I know this has been discussed before but I was unable to find the thread by doing a search.
I'm trying to craft Adv Weapon Stock. Using as far as I'm aware the highest SR Link Steel Aluminum (816 SR) & Corellian Wood (675 SR) thats spawned on my server.
I know it's been mentioned here that Stocks are bugged. But I know that other Weaponsmiths on my server make 40-40 +0.293 stocks.
After wasting over 70 attempts i've yet to make one better than 34-34 0.293. (my previous best was 32-32 0.293 with lower SR Link Steel Aluminum)
I've noticed that the results vary greatly when i spend more experimentation points in one attempt (with all greatsucesses) for example if i spendfour points on the first try i get 22-22 damage. however if i spend two points at a time or one point at a time to get to four pointsit will only give me around 16 damage.
I find that if I spend a large number of points atonce on the second experimentation attempt it usually get a good or moderate sucess. so that kinda blows my theory to use a large amount of points at once.
So is there a secret, is it a method of how you spend your experimentation points, oris it just random?
If i keep trying will I eventually hit the magic 40-40 number or is it just a question of luck.
BTW in case anyone is wondering or if it makes a difference I'm a 10pt Master and crafting in a Research City.

I use 674 wood and 826 link-steel, just takes many tries as you've noticed. I often found too that I could get it really close then I would get a moderate or worse. Just keep trying is all I can tell ya.

it seems like the only way to consistently produce 40/40 is to do 6-7 points in the first try, then either do 1-2 at a time or maximum allowable points until damage is maxed (people have reported 40/40 through both methods). it takes quite a few attempts to get a good one (20+ most of the time) but it'll happen eventually, and it is doable with 10 points.

Right. It took me, personally, around 40-50 tries to get a good one, and if I remember correctly I put one point in, then two, and then maxed out the line as far as I could before putting the rest of the points in one at a time. I could have just gotten lucky that time, though.....after awhile I was trying all sorts of variations and getting close on many of them. End result, though, were 40-40 .33 stocks.

speed is affected by SR on the wood and aluminum but you can reach 40/40 damage with any quality resources. last time i made stocks i couldn't get better than .4x speed cos the wood was total crap.
