Thread: Please help me not screw this Skill Tape up lol

Hiya,
Well I'm finally trying to get my extra experimentation points and I am uncertain how to get the right skill to stick for this particular skill tape (The skills are listed in the order they show on the tape).

Wound Healing (Music): 4
Medical Foraging: 2
Weapon Experimentation: 2

I want the Weapon Experimentation skill to stick. I have read a bunch on this and get many conflicting stories on how to go about getting it to use the right one. The thread linked below seems to be saying that all I will have to do is put a +1 of each Wound Healing (Music) and Medical Foraging because they come first. But I am not certain I am reading it right, plus there are many posts saying this does not work. I also am unsure if anything has changed since the thread was written.

Please if anyone has knowledge on this - tell me what to do - hehe.

PS - I have found +1's of both unwanted stats, I was hoping to find numbers bigger than what they are, but all I could find were +1's.

This is the link I found to have the most info in it:

Short Answer you will need: +5 Wound Healing Music, and a +3 Medical forage tape for the WS experimentation to stick.

Details:

1. Highest Value enhancement will always stick first unless the target item already has aHIGHER value of the same stat. This is why you need the +5 Wound Healing (music).

2. When dealing with equal stat numbers it goes either alphabetically or in the order that they appear on the tape I can't confirm which because I have always had the enhancements that met both alphabetical and order conditions. This is why you need the +3 medical forage.

3. The +1 or -X method (ie - +1 Wound healing, +1 Med forage) will not work (or has never worked for me an I have tried 1/2 a dozen experiments with it).

GunShy is dead-on... dont listen to the fools that tell you "you only need a +1 of each of the other stats" to get the +2 weapons exp to stick. I have done my own testing on 3 or so tapes and it has never worked.

i have a question along these lines. Is there a way to un-bork a clothing item that already has a skill tape in it.

a month or so ago (before i read the threads on this subject) i put a +4 dodge/+3 weapon assembly tape into a peice of clothing. Of course the +3 WS Assembly went south and I'm left with the +4 Dodge mod.

Short of the Devs fixing this simple code error.. which will never happen. Is there anything that can be done to fix this?

Its not too bad. You just need one more tape. Put it into a BE enhanced piece of clothing with dance/music wound healing tissues in it (higher than +4) and that stat won't stick when you insert the tape. That means you just have to find a +2 or better (or is it +3 or better?) foraging tape.

no, it is NOT supposed to completely delete all but one skill mod when tapes are placed into clothing, it is a bug, plain and simple, and the devs don't care enough to fix it.
