The EULA says:
7. You acknowledge that you are bound by the terms and conditions of the Software License and Limited Warranty that accompanies the Game ... You may not use any third party software to modify the Software or to change game play.

Next time, try to make your first post something that doesn't violate game policies.

You did know you could get banned for doing that?

Posting about it only increases the chances.

Not trying to be a jerk here, just picking holes in the EULA is all.

What if he used a machanical machine to press the mouse button for him. I am sure you could easily find some little machine very capable of pressing a mouse button really fast. Now he puts this machine on him mouse and then does the exact same thing as he did with his 3rd party software, only this time it is hardware.

Also, we all know what he did cheapens the expirance, vilotates rules, and most of us, myself included probably wouldnt do it. But all it did was stop him from repeatively click a mouse so much that it caused him pain. But I guess that lack of pain did give him an unfair advantage so /shrug

Anyway, once again I am not trying to play devils advocate here, just pointing out things.

the biggest prob is wpnsmith is there is little or no market for guns NOT made by a master, so you are forced to grind this prof to have any fun with it and not really start till u hit master or at least box 4 on experimenting

Any holo that spits out Master WS should also give a 2-page form to be signed by the recipient stating that SOE is not repsonsible for repetive motion injuries, lists physical therapists that specialize in Carpal Tunnel Syndrome and give a coupon for the free "I ground Weaponsmith!" SWG-model wrist suppot.

When I started the grind to MWSI thought to myself that this was going to be simply awfull. I had heard that the grind was long andI would have the stongest clicker finger in the world by the end. So with this in mind I started my long trek. First off, I happen to be in good with a rescource dealer that let me have all the metals I needed at the best price of all...free. Then I started grinding barrels. And I grinded barrels. And I grinded barrels till I had enough xp for my first skill. This was a few hours because I have another biz to run and a game to play. So I get trained in my first skill. What was it you ask? Don't remember. Dosen't matter. Here's why...I started reading the boards and quickly found the macro that everyone uses. Cool all I have to do now is click on the rescources. Four crafting tools going at once this won't be to bad. A little while into this (probablly a couple of hours) my wrist was killing me. Time to quit for the night. Next day. Refreshed from my normal six hours of sleep I started thinking that there has to be a better way. So I pointed my curser to google.com and found a little program called "Click-a-Lot." Now what this little thingy does is continually click your mouse button for you. With that said I downloaded it and got it up and running. I alt+tab back into the game and hit the hot key for my macro. With a litlle fine tuning on the speeds (pause time) I'm blasting out metal staffs; 6 every 40 seconds. 48 total grind hours and about a week of elapsed time later I'm a MWS. Now some may find this a cheap way to do it. Others might just think this is the best thing since sliced bread. You be the judge. To thoses who thought it cheap of me to do it this way i have one rebutal...I did use my other computer at the time while I was grinding to research things on this profession and learn how to be a better MWS. Well thats about all for my little 2 bits of info. Enjoy your grind...

I'm working on constructing such a machine. When my prototype is ready I'll sell it to every holo-grinder in the game and make millions. Millions! And nothing in the EULA can stop me, mwahahaha!

I have such a machine already, it's called "Alex", Alex is an amazing machine, Alex will stare at the screen for endless hours, will punch the mouse as often as is possible, and will think every moment of it is "COOL"

Alex is a 6 year old nephew, feed Alex lots of sugar gunk, and combine with "really playing Star Wars" and any fool can grind any class out with no pain at all, and the EULA doesn't say squat about using an Alex. :}

P.S. This would have worked but I made the mistake of mentioning it to his Father who then stole my idea, and my Alex bot, to grind for HIM. Sadly, I don't have another 6 year old nephew, but I have been promised that if I pull ID on a HOLO I can borrow his Alex.

It does say something about the state of the game though, at least 6 year olds find it "Cool and FUN" to grind for hours on end. Then again, ever watch a 6 year old watch the Lion King over and over for days if you would let them? Inventive little buggers even figure out how to us the remote to the DVD so they can restart it endlessly.

My 3 year old already does the Finding nemo over and over and over again. I want to kill him since I am afraid he will damage the dvd.

The only reason I do not use him to grind is he is to smart and would try to do other things.

I do the repetitive clicking when I grind. I've never had pain from it though. My video card came with one of those remote controls, so I have the relative comfort of continually clicking from my bed while watching TV. So I end up using the macro, and using the remote to do my clicking from a distance. It actually does help some.

Well I for one am a computer software engineer ...

I read the EULA and it does say I can't use 3rd party software - BUT - like I said I am a computer guy so I made my own version of the program he is describing.

(of course there are tons of applications out there that do that like autoit, and macro magic)

Because I MADE (wrote every line of code) in the program it is NOT 3rd party software - so no violation of the EULA.

And before you start in on morals and the EULA - just remeber the original poster posted this to help people.

So get off his back already.

Really - I dont see the difference between using "in game" macros to do musician or dancer then using an application that moves the mouse around and simulates mouse clicks.

For those of you STILL hung up on the EULA, let me break it down for you in legal terms (I am dating a lawer)...

The EULA says: 7. You acknowledge that you are bound by the terms and conditions of the Software License and Limited Warranty that accompanies the Game ... You may not use any third party software to modify the Software or to change game play.

Well the macro software he is using does not modify the game software.

The macro software goes not change game play has he still has to get the resources and watch the clock tick.

The ONLY difference between the in game macros and the "3rd party software" is that you have to move double click the resources and click the "O DARN" button when crafting fails....well he DID have to write a macro for that so in a sence he is doing it.

If you don't agree..well...let me be frank about this...I don't care.

And I bet the 30,000 other people using macro software (homemade or downloaded) don't care.

This game is designed to be a grindfest - as a matter of fact that is the entire Jedi system.

(now i KNOW your going to mention the new patches coming out, until they come out it is still a grind fest so hold your breath).

My hat goes off to the original poster - you knew you would get flamed but posted anyways.

Unlike you trolls that flame him for being more inventive then yourself - he has brains

The Master part of that isn't true.I'm currently 4424, and have been selling weapons (primarily Melee) since about 1104. Yes, the first thing I went up was Techniques.

On Starsider, the Two-Handed Weapons category on the Bazaar (everywhere) is pretty much empty, so I sell 2-Handed Axes (115-170, 4.0spd, ish) for 4k, and 2-Handed Curved Swords (50-220, 3spd) for 5k. I'm told these are fairly decent, I can't find a Weaponsmith shop to compare themwith. All the Weaponsmiths on the Server seem to focus purely on guns and Vibroknucklers.....

Anyhow, I've been a weaponsmith now for maybe 2 months? I'm not sure. But I have to say, watching my xp tick up while I'm driving my speeder is a gratifiying experience.....
