Thread: Resource shortages, working as intended?

I've noticed lately that on Bloodfin we appear to be having a shortage of a number of resources which weaponsmiths tend to use. I have found some of them but their locations on the highpercentagelocations are usually only accessable by a personal harvester.

Generally I'm not a big conspiracy kind of guy but since the ID revamp and the wonderful communication skills demonstrated there I've been wondering if they've been using resource qualities and quantities as a form of stealth nerfing.

I understand that qualities are gated but it appears kind of odd to me that the only Irrolun that I've been able to harvest in a while has a quality in the low 40's and Ostrine ore appears to be as rare as can be.

anyone else seeing this problem or should I go back to reading JFK conspiracy books

Well speaking as a Master Weaponsmith on the TC (since Feburary). And I've been watching resouce spawns since about Janurary over there. So far these are the following resources I've seen thats been on the "rare" side.

  1. Rhodium Steel - Last Spawned in Feburary

  2. Irolunm Reactive Gas- Just recently spawned, but the previous spawn of that was in Feburary

  3. Ostrine Carbonite Ore - Last Spawned in Feburary

  4. Carbonite Steel - Just recently spawned after several months

  5. Class 3 Solid Petro - only two spawns since Janurary

  6. Desh Copper - Only two Spawns and both were in Feburary

  7. Duranium Steel - has only spawned twice since Janurary or Feburary

  8. Atlantium Carbonite Ore - Only two spawns since the game went live last spawn was in late Feburary, early March

But thats a short list of what I've seen personally over the last few months.

On Chilastra has had some GREAT ditanium steel for t21, 991 SR duralloy steel, 991 SR Kammris Iron, and 999 shock duralloy steel spawn in just the last month.. Anyone wanting to start out as a melee weaponsmith would just need some good SR copper and some good UT Dolovite and Ditanium (even the t21 ditanium would do well).

It goes in cycles. We went for many months without any Ryll. It has spawned 3 times since then. Irolunn was pretty rare for a while but it has also spawned several times. I was getting down to the last of my good Link-Steel when a decent spawn came along. Now I am just waiting for a good Chromium (which I have dubbed Chrummium) aluminum to set me for a while. I think it really depends on your level of business. As a small time operator, I can keep a really good stock of materials on hand. If you are a high volume WS, I can see where you might run into shortages. But I honestly think spawns are very random.

form what i have seen i think the spawns are actualy weighted somehow to repeat stuff that was in spawn recently. I tend to see dryspells followed by succesive spawns of any given material one after the other for a while

I have in the past usually been able to find some of the following resources at any given time phrik, ostine, irrolun and diatum. Lately I've found the odd rare resource spawn..atlantium and rainbow gallorian gemstones but not the basics for the advanced power handlers. I did find alot of decent melee steel though but the market for melee just doesn't approach my firearms business.

I'm not a big time operator but I do sell my fair share of guns. With my present stock of resources my power handlers will be something like 15-35 -.32 speed in other words not very good (Unfortunately my Irrolun has a quality in its 40's)

I supposed that i should take some comfort in my latest batch of Corellian hardwood but stocks without weapons are just chunks of wood and aluminum.

Maybe it's time I try to improve upon my FWG5's.

Its for this reason alone that I started my Harvester Farm on Ahazi. 25 assorted Large/Medium Mineral, 11 Large Gas, 10 Med Chem, 8 Large Flora and 4 Large water.

The Flora and Water harvesters pull almost enough resources through a month to pay for the maintenance and power requirements of the 58 harvesters, with any ore I pull backing them up. Usually on a 45% concentration of a resource under those 35 Minerals I can pull upwards of 160k units of that resource per day. I also keep 8 lots open on my alt account to place for resources that spawn away from Naboo, or when I need a higher %.

Ahazi was graced with a 999 OQ polymer spawn a while again, and with the help of my GF I managed to pull 1.7million units of it. The same thing with an 840OQ Irolunn gas. Recently pulled 2mil of an excellent Duralloy Steel, and the same with a Platinite Copper.

Im sure someones going to have something derogatory to say, but its water off a ducks back as far as Im concerned. Im not the one without a particular resource.
