Does it seem to anyone else that their resources have been nerfed? I have had horrible luck getting any resources that have a decent stats in major qualities. and Rhodium steelgood luck. If the OQ is 900+ the COND is less than 100. But this might just be my server. Anyone?

Yep many resources are capped, so the above guide is your best friend.

There's a more complete list in my other post here. The one referred to earlier lists only the metals, this second thread lists all the minerals with stat caps.

Yes there are caps, but the weapons were balanced with this in mind. If there were ever a Plumbum Iron with Cond 900+ you would have some seriously out of whack weapons hit the servers... Those threads are pretty good and if you use Jenner and Foomans Weaponsmthing Crafting tool found on the weaponsmith forums of www.swgcraft.com it will give you the theoretical maximums when you view your resources.

there isnt supposed to be an OQ cap (as we see in that thread) but you will agree Maxx that on our server there has not been any durralloy w/ OQ > 900 since erco spawned close to a year ago. We just finally got a high OQ doonium and that still has cond some 60-70 points lower than omnibamowic from a year ago. I just find it terribly unlucky that with the min-max range of duralloy steel for conductivity (really good for steel) that in the past year it has spawned more than any other steel, often two different resources every other week, and never have high OQ.

We have a spawn of Duralloy with OQ, SR and UT all over 900. I am eating it up. It seems rare to get a spawn thsi good, so I think I'm going to throw down as many more harvesters as I can get.

my advice to you, providing you have the money, is contact every mining contractor you know and buy it as much as you can. Plan for a year of inferior durraloy.

In the last year we have probably had 50 spawns of duralloy steel and only 1 have ever had a high OQ. Duralloy is your perfect 50/50 ferrous metal for weapons because the conductivity range puts it in the mid to high 600's (higher than any other steel). Carbonite steel comes in a close second and their ranges overlap (currently theres a durralloy w/ cond just under that of a current carbonite, which means the duralloy is at the bottom of its range and the carbonite is at the top). Unless you know for a fact that high OQ duralloy is pretty common in your galaxy I would prepare for the worst. My galaxy spawns rather good resources but revisiting the best possible iron and steel has been pain staking in my galaxy.

We have not had a spawn of Duralloy over 888 OQ (2 spawns in 2 weeks @ 888 OQ) in the last year... Our best steel for 50/50 CD/OQ use has been Carbonite... We've had 912 OQ and 957 OQ carbonites... Duralloy is theorectically the best for such work but it truely depends on the individual stats...

Of course, it's all relative to each server. If your server has never had a spawn of steel with an OQ higher than 500, then all your weapons will be comparable.
It's only when the 1000OQ steel finally does spawn that the panic begins!
Of course it can suck as a newish WS to find that although there hasn't been a spawn of good steel on your server for 6 months, most of your competitors have masses of the stuff, but aren't selling for love nor money!!!
