Thread: Safe Nofail Experimentation Threshold

So I live in a Research City(+5, well actually I don't), drink12 new and improved Bespin Ports(+15ea, AA hear I come), hold a tool(14.32Eff, no idea of damage on it, examine doesn't show it, prolly 88/100) and stand next to a station(42Eff), will this be enough to avoid a critical failure on the experimentation attempt on my customer's yellow-worded 32-128dam bile drenched rancor teeth that I'm placing in a cleaver?

I use my station only a few times a day, maybe 5-10.. but my house is public so anyone can use it, does this make things worse, how does it make it worse?

How do the station and tool correlate to the drink and city mods?

Who are the math wizards on the forum? Am I safe to proceed with this nofail threshold?

Compared against not drinking 12 Bespin Ports/craft and not living in a Research City, and not using a station, but using my droid(4)? Am I still safe to proceed?

Thanks for complicatingthe little things and leaving the big things bugged to hell. I kinda took salvation in the numbers, now the numbers completely baffle me. I guess I'm just an old illiterate fartknocker using a slide ruler, these days.

I've read that the skill enhancing foods do not stack; so you can only use one of each type at a time.

I sincerly doubt thatanyone will ever reach a guaranteed no fail construction process.

There's also a foodthat gives a bonus to assembly, which should help with critical failures on assembly (at least, I haven't had any since I started using it). From what I've heard though, Bespin Port is broken, but I haven't been able to find any to confirm it myself.

Also make sure you have no BF and your mind is fully healed.

IIRC crit-fail is a hardcoded value which is why masters with +100-125 assembly still get them. The skill-mod buffs don't stack and a lot of them are broken (like all the +accuracy ones), no one's tested to see if Bestine Port and that cake actually work because the filling is high, thebuff is small, and it'd take days of doing nothing but testing to get a sample size large enough to show any effect.

POKEY THE PENGUIN SIG REMOVED BY GARVA BECAUSE "Just because you are crafty enough to get around the technicality of it being a .jpg or .gif does not mean it is not an image, it is not ascii art, it is an image" SO HERE IS MY NEW SIG.

I follow you. I know the skill mods are broke. I pull up the character skill mod list and look at melee defense and ranged defense, you know the +xx/+xx, never changes when I take a knee.. I'm sure(well I hope) its calculated into the game, but it sure doesn't depict it in the list. You would think going under cover would adjust your +xx/+xx for that skill in there realtime too, but it doesn't.

Nor does the repair mod appear in there, unless of course your wearing a skilltape. However, the base is, is left to the imagination it seems.

I'm just a little upset, not alot, just a little, that an architect can get a wall back, if he fails, but we do not get our gorax shard back.. which on a scale of value far surpasses a wall.

Thanx, Oar
