I'm new to weaponsmithing just hit master tonight after a couple weeks of making random stuff.

I have a couple questions.

First off, what's the best way to get going? I'm looking at some of the schematics, (advanced powerhanders, etc, etc) and it's just crazy it would take me 3-4 weeks of collecting resources to just do a run or 2 of guns.

Is there some method, I should start off on? Like make low-end stuff, till I have decent money, then pay people for resources. Having only 10 lots is rough.

Also, should I put advanced componets in everything? Or at the end of the day is it just a waste?

I'm sure i'll have more questions bt all I could come up with as of right now it seems like a daunting task

Unless you have a lot of money, it's going to take you 2-3 months to build up a decent resource collection. But start simple and build the weapons you have resources to make now (i.e. if you have good resources for melee weapons, then start with melee weapons). Even with a lot of money it might be hard to find all the resources you'll need.

For most components I use advanced, except for the scope. Even with bad advanced resources, you can still make a better component than a basic one made with great resources. For scopes I use the basic model experimented to 0 HAM. I put such a scope onto each weapon capable of holding one.

Also, with the new bazaar caps, your weapons can besub-par compared to established mastersand still sell for 5-6K on the bazaar. Scout blasters are a good example of this: they barely sell on my vendor, but when I put them on the bazaar they sell out in a day or two, even if they aren't top-of-the-line.

It takes time for a new WS to get started, even if you start making the best-of-the-best weapons from start. I've been a master for about two-months now and I'm only now starting to make consistently good sales. It just takes time to build up a loyal customer base, but when you have that customer base they'd be willing togo to the ass-end of Lok to buy your weapons.

It's funny you say ass-end, Cause that's where my city is.

So you suggest scout/dlt20'a melee stuff and plop them on the bazzar. Till decent enough fundage comes up in order to move into advanced weaponry?

I was looking over schematics and got seriously disheartened. I'm like this is going to take me MONTHS to even make something decent.

Yes it will take months (grinding is the easy bit) until you get these resource's (notably the ones for ABPH's)decent fundage probably won't come (Pups are probably better to sell than the low end weapons tho but it depends on what suits you the best). Also advertising on the planet map is essential for a WS until you become well known on your server and eventhen its probably wise to still advertise(or at least be in a building where there are advertised weapon vendors)!

It's all about the resources to make top of the line weapons. So make the best you can for now, plop em on bizarro, sell em for what you can. And if you can't alread, get enough Merchant skill to Register your vendor on the planetary map.

Advanced Power handlers are worth it, along with loading mechanisms. Barrels are also worth it, if the correct resources are available.

Good Luck!

A "Looking to Buy" category at the bizarre would be nice.
