Thread: Thinking of going Weaponsmith
I would just like to know:
*How many materials you need to make a weapon? From a basic scout blaster to a flame thrower.
*Do you need resources with a quality of 999 to make anything decent or will slightly lower stuff do?
*How long does it take to progress through the skill trees?
Thanks guys and please post more if you think it would come in use.
Hmmm, you might not like WS either. Each weapon doesn't require too many resources, but WSing overall has about four dozen specific named resources that are required to make all the weapons. Many of these resources are exceptionally rare and only turn up once every 2-3 months (Corbantis hasn't had Diatium Copper in over 3 months).
Generally speaking, getting resources with 900+stats is best. However, for some of the rare resources, you'll need toget them no matter what their stats are, just because you might not get anymore for months. Firearms tend torequire Conductivity and Overall Quality, melee weapons tend torequire Shock Resistance and munitions tend torequire Decay Resistance, Overall Quality and in some cases Unit Toughness.
Because of the rarity of some resources, you will find that you still need to stockpile huge quantities of them (though you useresources on a per-item basis, so a couple 100K can last you a while). Go to www.SWGCraft.comand check the weaponsmith schematics to get an idea of the types of resources required. As you grind, start stockpiling these resources as they shift in. Otherwise, you may find yourself as a master WS but still not be able to make very many worthwhile weapons.
Hope this information is useful to you.
Slim Vargo, Corbantis
dude--
you'll spend too much time looking for GREAT resource stats rather than
raw units of metals--just as frustrating/time consuming--how fun is this
game anyway?
