You can craft WUKs, too. Those are good at novice level, especially if you want to sell them (just find yourself a friendly smuggler and work out a regular rate). You won't get as much XP for selling them, though, but they give decent XP for experimentation, too. Projectile pistol barrels are supposed to be good for the novice to Intermediate 1 grind, but I only did WUKs and some guns.

Once you finish the novice box, take Intermediate Firearms Crafting 1 and start grinding projectile rifle barrels. Just get a boatload of steel, a decent macro (search for 'em on the board here -- they aren't hard to find) and start grinding.

From there, it really depends on how you want to proceed. I'm taking the path of grinding up the Techniques tree, and then grinding and selling my way along the rest of the trees. You won't sell much if you can't put at least 7 experimentation points in to things and the Tech tree will give you that. If you don't really care about selling, though, you can just grind your way along up to Master.

Three things, though.

1.) STOCK UP ON RESOURCES WHILE YOU GRIND. A lot of masters forget this, get to the top, then realize they have to actually HAVE the resources in order to craft those T21s and such. If you stock up on rarer resources as you go, you'll be in a much better position to actually sell stuff once you make master.

2.) Be sure to train people as you go. Nothing sucks more than filling out your crafting boxes and having to wander around spamming "TEACHING ALL WEAPONSMITHING SKILLS! PST!!" to get apprenticeship XP.

3.) For the love of God please actually train as you go. You can only hold a certain amount of weaponcrafting XP as you complete the various levels. I BELIEVE it's 1.5x yournext highestlevel. So, if you're currently at Intermediate Firearms and it costs 49000 XP to get to Advanced Firearms, you can store up to 73500 XP. Once you go over that, you're just wasting resources, so be sure to train as you go.

heres what I do: I grind 2 of everything. First to find the base value and the combined value of the parts for the schematic if applicable, and a second time for practiced xp. THAT way you can find out for yourself which is better. And belive me, some people actualy think one small thing is the best. Tsk tsk tsk
