Hi all,
First off my question (followed by a little story on how I progressed up to NW.)
Question: What did you guys build to go from Eng4 to Novice Weaponsmith...eeek 21,000 xp? Don't tell me powerups please lol.
Story.
I grinded through Engineer 1-4, Survey 1-4 (easy), and Domestic Arts 1-3 this weekend (low play time too.) Here is what I did.
Survey practically raises on its own through sampling. I'm sure you all know that, but in case not: Survey goes up whenever you sample (afk or not!). So this raises pretty quick and easy.
Novice Artisan to Engineer 1, Domestic Arts 1. Here I pretty much just made GCT's (40xp each) and Survey Devices (54xp each). That that is dang easy. When making these devices/tools, you can spend the xp on either Domestic OR Engineering.
From Engineer1 to Eng2 and Domestic Arts ` to DA2 I just made Muzzles. They provice a 4:1 xp to resource ratio...meaning for 10 resources you get 40 xp! This is the GRIND. The easiest/but grindiest way to ENG4 DOM4...is by making blaster powerups...the whole way! I did this ALLLLL the way to eng4 and da4. Although I DID stop and make some buddies some black clothes, packs, bone armor, experimented CDEF's, made some Harvesters, etc etc etc.
I would NOT go the powerup route if you don't like to grind out tradeskills...since it is NO fun whatsoever. I didn't do JUST a straight grind either, since that would be insane. I'm also a Medic, Scout, Marksman, Dancer so I was keeping those skills up to.
I also have Organics 1 (probably all the farther I'll go in the medical line), Exploration2, Hunting1, Rifle3, pistol1, carbine1, and nothing in Dancing besides novice since I'm horrible at it lol.
It's nice to be a Scout/Medic/Dancer since you can stay out in the field and fight for HOURS without needing to head back to town much. As a scout you can make camps, then you can dance to reduce your mind wounds, then heal action/health wounds with Organic1 medkits or /tendwound ability.
Anyohw there is my grind story. Hope it provides some use as to how I advanced.
Also be sure to answer my asked question if you have insight please.

the best way is to grind wind generator. That gives you over 450 per pop in practice mode.
