Thread: which resources do weaponsmiths need?
All of them.
Check your draft schematics. They will tell you what resources you need for a given item, and what qualities are important. Good luck!
lol this is funny...but really good that you are thinking ahead..too many people grind their way to master and then dont know how to do crap in the profession. Havin worked my way up the hard way I was intimately knowledgable on resources needed and which weapons were best.
When it comes back up www.swgcraft.com is your friend. It has all our schematics and their requirements and what attributes are important. For all final firearm combines its usually 50% conductivity and 50% Overall quality. Check the schematics on the site for more info. It would take forever to list all the resources needed and their properties, but check out fooman's weaponsmithing tool (v5 coming out soon with great new features) on the forums of swgcraft.com.
I am not just grinding I need to be the best but so my materials lack the humpf and when friends say hey what materials do you need and how much I can say look this is what they say makes the best. I did the hard way with de and wont go through that again ![]()

In general, we need about any and every metal under the sun when harvesting all the metal you find, Think:
For Firearms: Conductivity and OQ
For Melee: SR
For Firearm Components: Conductivity 66% weight, OQ: 33% weight
For Melee Components: UT
Things to hord and mine all the dang time cause you can never have enough:
Ostrine Carbonite Ore: Used for Advanced Power handlers. The higher the OQ the better
Irolunn Reactice Gas: Same as the Ostrine Ore.
Dolovite Iron: Used for the Advanced sword cores, Get very high UT stuff
Ditanium Steel: Used for the Advanced Reinforcement cores, Get very high UT stuff
Class 3 solid Petro: Any will do, just make sure you harvest it when it pops
Platinite CU: High UT for advanced vibro units, High CD, OQ for DXR6 Carbines, and DX2 pistols
Desh CU: High UT for for advanced vibro units.
