Thread: Probably Beating A Dead Horse, but...

Ok, I just discovered this today and it really angered me.

I have been accumulating resources for like 2 months trying to get the

specifics needed for Adv. PH, Adv Blaster barels. (still don't have everything for PH).

Last night, the ryll gemstone rolls around...I think...HOORAY! last one for Barrels.

I throw up extractors...and then come back today and check it out.

Talk about a disappointment. I build my first Adv. Pistol barrel and it sucked! And max

damage (about 60%) it was only like 4 more Min/Max and was actually slower then

the reg. Barrels I make with my Uber Copper! This is ridiculous...Its not like I could have

gotten better materials, the ones I got are like the only ones of that type that have

cycled in since I started in Sept!

Talk about a let down! How lame is that...wait two months for something and....boom...

Sry...if this has been beat to death...but I am really frustrated right now.

The simple answer is that they'll get better if you use better resouces, you may have to wait another month or two to get the better resouces though. The advanced components are designed to provide advantage to the Weaponsmith that has been around longer.

Yep, it's been beaten to death. But every once in a while we bring by a master doc so we can rez it, then beat it to death again, just out of frustration.

The problem is not your resources, well not directly. The problem is that the rhodium steel that they require has never had a conductivity over 100 (actually i think 86 was the max, but i'm not sure) becausethe systemincludes hard caps for certain stats oncertain resources.Originally the system was intended to take into account the individual caps placed on resources so that this would not be an issue. However, this system was bugged for some time, and when the devs found it and tried to fix it on test center, there was a general outcry from players that caused them to leave it the way it was (because it was part of a fix that would have lowered the overall quality of weapons). Hopefully this will get taken care of eventually, since TH has gone to some length to try and figure out what the problem resources are. No word as of yet though. Just keep using the regular barrels for now.

/shrug At least tomorrow we can finally experiment chemical dispersion mech's.

The advanced pistol barrels are actually a pretty hefty upgrade. Yes, they're a touch slower, but a pistol needs the extra punch they provide. Personally, mine are 7 points higher in min and max damage than a regular pistol barrel.

The advanced rifle barrels are somewhat iffier. They are most likely +2 min/max at best. The largest advantage to them is that you can experiment them up to +18 or +20 to hit on the barrel. Coupled with a scope, they can have an enormous effect on the to-hit numbers of a variety of weapons.
