Hello there Weaponsmiths of Ahazi, Bria, Corbantis, and beyond! Ehecu here, dedicated master pistoleer, and I need some help learning about the history of what I believe is a common bug that has existed for a long time. Couldn't find any in-depth detail on it (just general "it exists" sort of things) through searching, so I decided to ask you all personally.
Back when the game first began, I could always get custom built weapons delivered to me by a weaponsmith because he didn't have a shop. When this happened I could always see the scope, in the trade window and when equipped, and he could see it as well. Unfortunately, others couldn't... inspired by a seriously dead sexy elite carbine mounted on my new favorite weaponsmith's wall (10 months later), I decided to do some testing on the bug to see if it had been fixed. Sure enough, my guild weaponsmith and I were both able to see the scope and barrel on my new DL44 when equipped. However, when I tested it on another guildie, when I equipped the DL44, it appeared to him that I was using not a scope-less and barrel-less DL44, but a pair of vibro knucklers... after the combat testing, I showed him it in the trade window and everything appeared fine (with the scope and barrel).
Now, my question to you is, since when has this bug been in game? Have you gotten any developer responses on getting it fixed? Was it possibly removed because of lag issues with loading so many customizations?
I'm terribly sorry if this is the stupidest question anyone has ever asked before or if it's been asked many many times in the past, but I'd really appreciate it if I could get an answer so I know what's up with this would-be great modification to the game

Known bug since the beginning of time I think.. it is listed in the weaponsmith issues compilation. I don't think it is a priority for the devs though.

Interesting. The devs have always held the position that it would be impossible to make scope/stock/barrel appear to other players (despite the fact that implementing it would be trivial and have no effect on server load or bandwidth usage).
If you were able to see customizations on that DL44, either they recentlymade the customizations visible with no announcement, or it's some kind of weird graphics caching bug. The "different weapon displayed" bug is new as of publish 9 and I don't think they've said anything about that yet.
