There's formulas out there and people have hundreds of ways of setting pricing.
That said I have a "test the market" rule. I was selling power hammers for 10k and doing a fairly brisk business. I dropped that price to 3k about 6 months ago and since then sales have dropped off some. I'm going to wait for the CU to adjust prices again but were the CU not an issue I would raise them to about 6k.
For some reason there is this, "If its cheap it's junk" mentality.
I'd say just charge enough that youre not losing money and adjust prices when your vendors unload to levels that promote a brisk business. If things are moving to fast, up the price. If the item is barely selling, lower it.
Best of luck and Im sure there will be many more opinions in this thread.
Most of all have fun, dont make being a merchant a second job.

Check the shops of the prominent WS in your galaxy, compare your stats and set your prices accordingly. Its probably a lot easier now doing price comparisons with the new vendor search feature.

I didnt use a formula until recently and used to guess all my prices, but heres what i came up with:
(Number of Units x 40) + special components= weapon price
Let me explain 'number of units' a little more; this is actual number of resources that were used in the process. Take the Tenloss DXR6b Rifle for example:
The gun itself needs 155 units of metal, 5 power handlers, 1 blaster rifle barrel, 1 stock and 2 power cubes (special components)
DXR6b Rifle: 155 units
Advanced Blaster Power Handler: 44 units x 5 = 220 units
Blaster Rifle Barrel: 58 units
Advanced Weapon Stock: 36 units (optional component)
155+220+58+36 = 469 units
469x40 = 18760 (effectively im charging 40cpu here, and can change the cpu to match the economy)
The special components will be down to how much you paid for them basically, for this example lets say i used base green cubes and got them for 5k each.
18760+10000 = 28750
If a weapons requires a special schematic, like the scythe then ill add an extra cost to the weapon but this is down to schematic prices on your galaxy (see the trade forum or ask around). Although the DXR6b needs a special schem, it is currently incredibly easy to get hold of so I dont add any extra cost for those.
Theres probably a million other ways to work out weapon price but this is just a simple method im using

I never use any formula.I do a lot of compairison shopping and set prices competitivly, more expensive then some, cheaper than others. Keeps things balanced out.

I just pick a number from the sky that seems to work
Most of my normal weapons are between 3k and 12.5k Other things, like Geo Blasters, DE-10's, Scythes etc etc are priced based on what the schematics and other loot cost me. Have to check the other WS and price your weapons accordingly. Don't try and make it too much work
supposed to be havin fun.
