Thread: Pikes and LVAs

I am thinking about changing my template over to Pikeman, just to try something different. I was wondering if there were any effective enhancements for any of these weapons, or if the only way to go is looted weapons? Figured I would ask the experts. Thanks for the help.

almost no one uses crafted pikes...looted ones from nightsisters are much better, but if you insist on a crafted one, you can use nym vibro motors to boost the max damage by 20

Aperfect damage slice on a good crafed LVA will land you somewhere over 500 damage. You can increase this slightly with something like nym's motors or nightsister motors, but not by too much. Pikemen is a funny profession in that it relys on weaponsmiths even less then the masters of "unarmed combat" (TKM's). Pikemen is about 90% dot's when it comes to pvp which are all looted and it's not to hard at all to find a pike that has higher damage then anything the best WS on your server can make. Spend a buff or 2 killing nightsisters and you'll haveatleast one pike that will slice up to 600+ damage and a small array of nasty dots. I've seen looted pikes with damage well over 1200 and fire dot's into the 400 range. So to answer your question, I wouldn't even waste the time trying to get a WS to craft you something "uber" when it's 10 times easier to loot something twice as strong.

It's true..
I sliced 100 vibro lances 3 months ago cause someone wanted one 400+ damage and I'm still trying to get rid of them. I cant even sell speed slices for 2005 credits.

I dunno, i sell quite a few LVA's.
People buy em in crates of 5 and slice em.
Still hate the fact we are almost irrelevant as far as the pikeman profession goes!

Know any friends or have a combat alt? I get mine by using the swordsman part of my toon (Master swords/MWS/Merchant 4004/Novice Medic/FS experiment 1) 
and going with a couple friends, I go fairly often since I live in UK and play on an American server so the shutdown is right about lunchtime.
