I am currently master shipwright but am thinking of dropping it for weaponsmith. The problem i have is that SW is SO resource heavy, plus i dont have the time to constantly craft so i rely on RE'd components....which do turn a profit.
Another problem is that i cant do factory runs on crfated SW components. It's anightmare trying to stock a vendor!!
Should i go WS?
From what i see in-game, it is one of....if not the.. most popukar crafting profs in game. It is pretty easy to make decent money (again, correct me if i am wrong)...and it is no way near as resource heavy as SW (100k steel will let me make 3-4 ships only).

WS is not as resource intensive quantity wise, but you will need to acquire extremely good stuff and a wide range of types. It can be subcomponent intensive as well. WS are a dime a dozen.....but there is always room for a very good one. My main was a server class smithie pre-CU, but now runs on a much smaller scale to allowthis toonand associates more time to play and keep us in custom weapons.
