Thread: Top 10 Questions You Would Like Answered

Thunderheart has requested the Correspondents to go to their communities and find 10 questions for the Developers to answer. After which, I will post the answers here. So, here are my suggestions:

1.) What do you plan to do to aid the Novice Weaponsmith?

2.) The weapon scale is completely out of whack. Skill level and certifications have never been a good indicator of what weapon you should be using; some weapons lower in the tier always outperform weapons higher in the tier. When do you plan to revamp weapons so they are properly suitedfor their skillbox?

3.) Test Center is currently loaded with new weapon drops, quest rewards and schematics, but they're all looted and temporary. Are we going to see any permanent new schematics for Weaponsmith?

4.) Are stun weapons going to see a major rebalance within the future?

5.) Do you plan to bring a wider variety to damage-types to professions?

6.) When exactly do you plan for the "Weapon Rebalance of January" patch to go in?

7.) Weapon enhancements are in a state of disarray; many Weaponsmiths feel we were better off without them. What do you plan to do torebalance enhancements so they are properly suited to every weapon?

8.) Functionality Rating. Can we get a word on whether or not this number on crafting stations and kits actually works?

9.) Are any changes planned for Experimentation?

10.) .. I ran out of ideas.

Please post your suggestions, or just whether or not you agree with the above list. Thanks!

I agree with 2 - Tarnak

But #1. I don't agree with, I think they have already helped the novice smith by raising the extraction rates on all extractors, with the 4BER personals you should be able to pull all the steel you will need in under a month and I don't think there is any need forsomeone seriously interestedinweaponsmith to do it any faster than that.

While I was grinding I sold C12 grenades and swords quite well on the bazaar because no one else made them, even if the stats are crap, the noob marksman or brawlers don't care because they don't know about the stats or they will only be using them for a few hours anyway.

Ideas for helping the novice if it is to happen; don't freak until you read all of this... Give the Artisans all the novice certification weapons so they can make these fully experimented, and grant them weapons exp for making weapons. Now to get novice weaponsmith an Artisan would need weapons exp instead of general crafting exp. Another bonus to this will be that artisans will start buying the weapon component loot drops from the bazaar so we don't have to look at them anymore

Hmm board are messing with me today

The thing I actually wanted to post:

Why is inventory management the way it is, why when I sort my resources, close my back pack, come back later everthing is in the original illogical order, I would like to be able to sort my stuff so I can find it easily instead of having to sift through 20 "copper" to find Desh. An even better Idea might be to include the resource type in the name i.e. "Copper Desh" or "Aluminum Link-Steel".

My list, some are from logix's post:

1) Do they know that rhodium/plumbum/etc SUCKS for the various weapons and sub-components? Is this intended?

2.) The weapon scale is completely out of whack. Skill level and certifications have never been a good indicator of what weapon you should be using; some weapons lower in the tier always outperform weapons higher in the tier. When do you plan to revamp weapons so they are properly suitedfor their skillbox?

6.) Weapon enhancements are in a state of disarray; many Weaponsmiths feel we were better off without them. What do you plan to do torebalance enhancements so they are properly suited to every weapon?

7.) Functionality Rating. Can we get a word on whether or not this number on crafting stations and kits actually works?

8.) Are any changes planned for Experimentation that would help reduce critical failures or medium 'successes' and increase greats or amazing results for masters?

9) Will they ever add droids to help improve the weapons weaponsmiths can make?

10) Will they ever add (or think about adding) bonuses to weaponsmith if that weaponsmith has skill in a weapon's usage tree? For example, if I have pisoleer skills I would get an extra bonus to the damage or speed or something for the pistols I make depending on my pistoleer skill level. This would help make the various weaponsmiths stand out from each other as they could specialize in different weapons.

I would like to se some question about the balance between advanced and non-advanced components. To me it looks like scopes and stocks (the optional components) mostly are not worth the resources the use in most weapons.
A non-advanced scope experimented for range has lower ham and higher ideal range then an advanced scope experimented for efficiency. That seams a bit backwards.

1 very simple one:

1). Given the massive requirements for so many different resources in our profession, as well as the the fact that we MUST have our own factories, are they any plans to aid us in storing all of our resources or giving us more lots.

e.g. 2 med houses (full of resources), 2 factories, 2 mineral harvesters, 2 chem harvesters, (and I can't use genererators, i can only watch 2 mineral spawns, etc....)

My question for the list...

Why, oh why, oh WHYdo the advanced components require the absolute worst possible materials you could ever imagine?

What inventor in any world would do that?Take the advanced blaster rifle barrell (Rhodium Steel for conductivity?):

"Okay, that was pretty good, but I think I can make it better. Let's see, I'll use my special technique, of course, and now what material will I use? Aha! Here's something the Emperor himself couldn't force lightning to pass through on a good day...THIS is what I will use! Surely, its total inability to conduct electricity will improve upon thedesign of this conductivity-dependent component!"

Picture Charles Goodyear deciding to make a better tire, and deciding it must be made out of ice.

Sincerely, what is the logic behind this?

Along with the certificates: Beam Rifles anyone?

My personal perfectionist issue: why doesn't stocks show on any other weapon than the laser rifle. Also scopes doesnt show on weapons pulled from crates I hear..

Also shows on elite carbine. I haven't done it but I would guess EE3 and DXR6 would also show a stock.

No customization of theweapon shows on a factory made weapon. You've been a smith over 6 months and haven't noticed that?

Took a 2 month break. Before I took the break early november stocks only showed on laser rifles and yes no stocks or scopes showed on weapons taken from crates..

Was hoping that something happened to our profession and what we do, I guess not.

Stocks still dont show on laser carbines, these are the only ones I've made since I got back. Guess it's time to test what weapons do show stocks.
