Hello,

I made it to master WS about 2 weeks ago, and been gathering qulity resources till now. I started making mostly melee weapons, and was wondering how much I should charge for weapons made with "home made" geo reinf/sword cores, 65/65 acklay bones, stuffs where I used power cubes and solidfing agent.
Do you price them depending on what you used to make the weapons, or depending on the final result only ? And how do you price them ?

If I am wondering about that, it was mainly because I saw for how much yellow cubes and solidifying agent are going for, or even acklay bones (basic ones). The results didn't seem to be much more of a difference compared to what I would get from regular ressources, maybe a total of +20 or 30 increase in the damage. Now on my server yellow power cubes go for like 20k a piece, solidifing agent are not free either.
Now I saw someone auctionning a graf baton that had a max dmg of 300 (dmg slice), and people were bidding some crazy prices, I belive it went for 800k !
I am completely lost about pricing items that are not made with regular resources hehe.

Its simple, how much did it cost you to build said weapon? if you had to pay 40k for the two cubes you used to make a power hammer, well guess what. You should probably charge > 40k.

If your customers simply won't support a 40k+ hammer, you're overpaying for your resources.

Well my question is coming from the fact that I saw on my server trade forum a weapon go for 800k, and that weapon would have cost me about 40 to 50k to make.
Also if I buy components for about 40k, I am just not going to sell the weapon for 40k, I need to make a benefit out of it, but don't know exactly how much. Should I double the price ? triple ? that's the question

I would say that has to do more with where you sit on your servers WS totem-pole.

On WH, there is a very well established WS who can sell weapons for more than double what I could sell it for with the same or very similar stats. He has been around for a long time and built a solid reputation. I myself am happy just to see5 or 6 new email notifications per day.

Personally its a fine line between making a profit and gouging your customers. One thing I have noticed is that forum auctions sometimes tend to have that Ebay-ish overzealousness in bidding. Items sell for far more than they should because people get caught up in the bidding.

One thing I have done is to simply ask people. I'll take a fresh crate of say stun batons, go to Coronet and look for fencers. I send a /tell and ask em about the stats on their baton if they have one. I will then make it clear I'm not looking to push a sale on them, but ask them, hey would a stun baton with xxx stats be worth xx credits to you? Sometimes I hear thats a great price and sometimes I hear no way.

forgot another thing, I also price depending on how quickly it will sell. My scythes have a large markup... but I sell out of them same day! My regular weapons, say FWG5's, RB, etc... are easier to make, easier to find for the customer (ie, they can go to ANY WS to find) and so are priced at a much lower margin.
