Thread: Do you slice your weapons before you place them on the vendor?
To be realistic how magnifiscent can they be. Do yourself a favor and do not start selling untill you make master. Next to nobody will buy them, and steer clear of the tapes for the time being. You cannot buy them for nothing short of millions. Why start out smithing that far in the hole. Far better to spend that dough on resources.
Um I would say starting out you will need to sell sliced weapons. Your base line will be garbage. So they will need perfect slices to look about what a master could do.
Some slices on certain weapons are just not desired. So if you get a bad slice well kiss selling it good bye. Same is true with a poor slice in general.

At least he is trying, Dont get down on his shops name just cause he isnt a "master". Remember you were once not a "master".
i myself would disregard what Mr. negative said. I would spend alot of time getting to know new people. Sell them cheap to starting players, When they get better at using weapons, Your weapons will be better by then. They will come looking for you for a new weapon. not every person in this game can afford to buy the very best from "masters". In fact most people would rather their weaponsmith be friendly and talk to them. Of course you wont be able to compete with these "masters". But at least you will be a human being instead of a craft macro bot. just stock a few beginner items on the bazars in towns while your getting to master, trust me people will come to know you and your weapons.
P.S. dont bother getting skill tapes yet, these "masters" are hard to outbid on auctions.
Howdy;
Got a comment for you. I sell sliced weapons -but- you need to keep them apart somehow. Two Tips about Item details.
1- Standard makes are called BD's Weapon. The Sliced ones are called SON Weapon (Slices Of Nyte' my slicer). This helps a lot when trying to vendor them since the names tell all - plus the buyers can tell them apart without a lot of Detail examines. Doesn't matter what you call them as long as you are consistant. The regulars will pick up on it is as long as you stay with whatevername plan you come up with.
1). Put your name and base stats in the schematics, e.g. "T21 171-404 7.4 by Mogiff." That lets everyone know who made the weapon and how good the resulting slice was.
2). Have separate vendors for sliced and unsliced weapons.
3). Use a "price by slice" code on the sliced vendor, if your smuggler can provide you with the information (or if you have a slicer alt) wherein the last three digits of the price correspond to the slice.
Here's what I mean. Let's say you sell your normal unsliced stun baton for 10,000. You want to sell two that were sliced, one for 25% speed and the other for 33% damage. You sell the speed one for 15025 and the damage one for 15133. The "0" indicates speed and the "1" indicates damage.
It's a little more legwork for me, but I find that my customers really appreciate this system. They don't mind paying the extra few credits, because it's saves them tons of time. They can look at a long vendor list of sliced weapons and see, very easily with a quick glance at the prices, the type and quality of the slices, without having to slog through all the listings and examining each weapon for the precise stats.
