Weaponsmith Archive
Thread: I've been makin em so long and I'm thinking about using them.....
I'm a Master Smuggler/Master WS with Marksman 4/0/0/0 (or whichever one is the pistol line), Brawler 4/0/0/0,Artisan 4/0/4/0 and Merchant 3/0/0/1. I'll probably drop the merchant (I have an alt who is almost master merchant) and pick up some Pistoleer to supplement the Dirty Fighting line in Smuggler (which has some nice specials, but no accuracy bonuses
).
Slim Vargo, Corbantis
Before I became Master Weaponsmith MasterMerchant Master Artisan, I was almost master pistoleer. Had dropped the merchant skill because of bugs with the vendors. I also picked up CH and did very well with that combo but when i got to the point that i needed to increase my weaponsmith skill and picked up merchant, I knew i had to give up some skills. After the major CH nerf, I decided that there was no point in me being a CH anymore so I gave that up. As I progressed, I realized I also had to give up the pistoleer skill as well. I dabbled in Chef and Architect but gave that up for alittle dabble in tailor.
However, like other people, I have another account. My other account is a smuggler on his way to master, and pistoleer on way to master. Thats a lot of pistol xp but im sure it will be worth it. He is also a Master Medic.
Far as PvP, I dont think i would put my Weaponsmith through that kind of torture. Decay on everything? Unless I put all my tools and nice clothes on a rack before I go into battle. I say if you going to craft...craft. If your going to fight then fight. Mixing them in my own opinoin is not worth it.
Bandora - Master Weaponsmith/Master Artisan/Master Merchant
I'm master smith, master artisan and master pistol. I dropped merchant many moons ago and fail to see why anyone would keep it after they drop their vendor. I also dropped scout and miss terrain neg, but what the hell.
As part of an active PvP guild I partake regularly both solo and in groups.
I obviously have no medic, so buffs/spice/food are essential. I can hold my own 1 on 1 especially when I can manage to keep my better loot enhanced pistols, or offer crates to get that elusive 35 dmg slice. However when it comes up to fighting temploiters (ie the famous rifleman with fencer & pistol dodge lines and medic for stims) I get pwned hands down.
It doesn't deter me, as I know when I wake up at the cloner that I have a vital skill (and a money making one) outside of combat. Combat eases the boredom of constant crafting or resource collecting. It's fun to be able to take part in taking down a krayt that you can use the tissue from later on.
