I believe those %s count only for the initial combine, and then the max percent you can experiment to.

Because attack speed, max damage, and min damage are all on the same bar,

your old copper : ( 2x(521.4 + 282.15) + (822.5 ) ) / 3 = (2 * 803.55 +822.5) / 3 = 809.867 (81% max experimentation or so) total
your new copper : ( 2x(479.16 + 320.43) + (848.5) ) / 3 = (2 * 799.59 +848.5) / 3 = 815.8933 (82% max experimentation or so) total

so, unless I figured it wrong, you should be seeing a mild improvement with the new stuff. However, due to floating point error, and all the rounding going on, chances are the old stuff just rounded out better

Yeah, that's exactly what I would have thought. The new resource ought to be better, or at very least the min damage ought to be the same. I'm not convinced of the rounding error ... for other recipies it seems to be pretty much exactly what you'd expect.

It has nothing to do with rounding. The math will work out if you include all the resources. Here's the thing, when making an ABPH, yourPolymer, Ostrine, and Irolunn has no CD. What this means is the CD in the Copper and Alum will be more important than you think they are. I think the effective % for CD and OQ ends up being 77% CD, 23% OQ for Min Damage, and 87% CD, 13% OQ for Speed and Max Damage. If you use those set of numbers, you'll see that your first copper is better in all cases.

So I noticed something really peculiar on Monday. In the game, the experimentation on the advanced blaster power handler is listed as this:

Speed CD 66% OQ 33%
Maximum Damage CD 66% OQ 33%

Minimum Damage CD 50% QO 50%

So previously using this copper to make my ABPH-es.

Pikan Ditanium Copper CR 443 CD 790 DR 348HR 423MA 748OQ 855 SR 592 UT 574

And that was giving me an ABPH of

+21 min / + 41 max / -.41 speed

Some new copper recently showed up and I got all excited. It looks like this:

Caufyb Ditanium Copper CR 396CD 726 DR 388 HR 390 MA 771 OQ 971 SR 541 UT 543

So I went and mined some of that, and if you do the math, the losses to speed and max damage should have been minimal, and should have gotten a decent gain out of the minimum damage.

So I made the ABPH (everything was the same except the copper), and it turned out:

+20 min / + 41 max / -.41 speed

Go figure ! Strangest thing !! The math totally does not work out. I can repro it over and over too. Ended up going back to the old copper (Pikan) for my crafting ...

I've started wondering, is the recipie shown in game different from the internals on the server? Have any other WSnoticed this?
