Hello, having been a poor non combatant crafter, Ive never even seen a yellow or white lettering DE-10 pistol barrel. So my question is, what is the difference between the two?

The problem with DE10 barrels is that they don't show any stats upon /examine. The theory is that these barrels do have some sort of numerical influence on the final weapon, but that those numbers are "hidden." Based upon all other loot in the game, and given the idea that barrels do, in fact, have hidden stats, the general concensus is that the yellow barrels will yield a better weapon in the end, because their hidden stats would be higher than those of the "base" white barrels. Anecdotal evidence seems to support this so far, but given the fact that any hidden stats that are above base will have random values, the propensity for smiths to use krayt tissue of varying quality given the weapon's rarity, and the difference of resource quality across servers, it is impossible to know for sure if this is the case. However, even if there are no hidden stats, and the yellow text is just a flaw in the loot generation (like legendary white cubes ) the safest bet is to go with the yellow barrels,since they will, at the veryleast, be no worse than white barrels.

I have tried it. Used the same tissues in 3 DE-10s.

1. White Barrel.

2. Yellow Barrel.

3. Yellow Barrel.

Gun2 had 20 more dmg than Gun1.

Gun 3 had 40dmg more than Gun1.

So, the 2nd barrel has a +20dmg on it, the 3rd barrel had a +40dmg on it.

I also heard of spd-barrels, but all mine so far has been in the 20-40 range in dmg.
