I think a few Weaponsmiths here have their pink panties in a bunch. The poor fella is simply trying to find some weapon and while this is not a trade forum he did attempt the apporpriate means in order to secure what he's looking for. If you don't like these types of posts then by all means simply ignore them it stated very clearly in the subject line what he was trying to accomplish with this post. Leave the poor guy alone of actually give constructive feedback.

Frankly you'll have a much better chance reposting either in your galaxy forum or in your trade forum again. Too many WS's here feel they are above all other professions and can't dignify any post's seeking help, and even worse than that they can't simply pass them by and just ignore them either.

Flame me if you like but this is pathetic that you guys are totally unwilling to help him simply because he posted in this forum. There are many other more tactful ways to deal with stuff like this other than one staring, flaming, and just whinning.

You completely miss the point. This isn't a trade forum. GET IT?!!! That meanspeople shouldn't post trade related stuff here. GET IT?!!! How many weaponsmiths go to the trade forums to ask the best way to experiment to get a 40/40 advanced weapon stock? GET IT?!!!

From what I have seen here, weaponsmiths are very helpful when people ask weaponsmith related questions. But most of us don't appreciate our forum being used as some kind of second-hand junk bazaar for people too impatient to wait for a response on their own galaxy trade forum. It's a matter of respect and consideration for our profession.

When someone clearly ignores a sticky that says "This is not a trade forum", and then insults our community when we call them on it, that shows a tremendous amount of disrespect for us, and it is extremely inconsiderate. One-starring isa subtle way of showing our disatisfaction; when we are insulted for trying to protect the integrity of our profession forum, one should expect to be flamed.

I've tried to be nice about it in the past, but that doesn't seem to work. If people get the idea that WS are crotchety old geezers who yell at everyone, oh well. At least then maybe they'll stop using our forum to whore their junk.

Thanks for what you posted jason,but lets let this go.Have learned not to post here.Would be nice if WS posted in trade forum especially to my thread.Have had a thread there for a week and not a one person has posted to my thread.

But I hope this thread gets locked or people just ignore this because people are going to continue posting here.If they can't show their dissfaction by drilling it into the ground with 1 - stars , they will post endless flames.

Listen up because I don't think anyone knows why that sticky is there, even some of the weaponsmiths apparently.

Sure its no big deal for one guy to come in here and make a request; but what happens when 30 or 40 people all decide its a good idea and this place is overflowing with trade requests; the forum ceases to become useful for its intended purpose.

when you respond positively to this behavoir it sends out the wrong message, that this is acceptable when it clearly is not.

The thing here is though, this guy tried the trade forums, he tried looking in game but didnt find any. So he posted in here that he was looking for a WS who did stock them, if he had said : i am a new WS on bria, and i wonder if anyone has stocked thermals or imp dets and actually been able to sell any, then the response would have been different.

But since he chose to be honest and state what he was looking for this became flamebait.

Now i was a smuggler for 5 months, and i seem to remember the same is not a trade forum in there, but i saw several of the weaponsmiths flaming this in there wit hteh : looking for m.smuggler to bulk slice.

I also remember several askin if there was anything to do to improve the slices, while it was clear in the sticky's that there was no such thing, so lets not get hypocritical.

What should have been done was that he should have posted his thread, and asked for smiths who do stock them to send a PM, i dont see anything wrong with that as the thread would die fast

This is not a trade forum, peroid. This post is simply not appropriate for the weaponsmith forum. We are in here not here to sell weapons, but to discuss weaponsmithing. So, he didn't get a response to his trade post. He can go to his galaxy forum and ask about smiths. He could actually talk with the smiths in his galaxy... *gasp*. There's a noval thought. Contact weaponsmiths on your server in game. He has no reason to come in here. If every smoe who doesn't get an immediate reply came in here we'd be swamped with "I want XXX plz!!"

Have a little respect for weaponsmiths and don't clutter our forums with trade requests. If you have trouble finding a smith on your server then go talk with smiths on your server, this is not your server. Don't know who to talk to ask someone on your server. This is not your server.

You are right this is the weaponsmith forum, not the Bria trade forum or Bria galaxy forum. Take your galaxy specific request to your galaxy specific forums.

I don't care what server you are on. It is irrelavent. I would say the same thing is you were on Starsider, or Bloodfin, or whatever. The issue is not weaponsmiths posting on the weaponsmith forum, and if you want to "let sleeping dogs lie" then I suggest you take your own advice.

Gah, you still don't get it. It doesn't matter what lame excuse you try to use, it was still a TRADE RELATED POST, and you were wrong to place it here. If you had simply said "Sorry, my bad, I'll try elsewhere", you wouldn't have gotten any flames.

And your last paragraph makes zero sense. Now you're trying to bring Starsider server into this? Dude, this forum doesn't belong to any particular server, it belongs to the Weaponsmith Profession, and is used for discussing Weaponsmith related issues. Not for trade, not to advertise for services, not to advertise threads on your server's Trade forum.

There are a number of other avenues youcan try: 1) Try Bria's main forum; 2) Contact weaponsmiths in-game (it's not that hard to find out who they are); 3) post something on the Trade channel in game; 4) stand in front of the starport and spamfor awhile(though I don't personally recommend this method

); 5) ask your friends for recommendations on good WS to contact (kind of related to #2 above).

I would also like to point out that you aren't the first person to do this. We get trade related posts in here all the time. For those WS who think this isn't a big deal, will you like it when our forum is taken over by trade posts and we become a secondary trade forum for everyone who doesn't get an immediate response on their own server trade forum? Relevant WS issues get bumped down fast enough as it is; with a bunch of trade posts, constantly being bumped by their owners, it would be impossible.

And for the person who mentioned WSadvertising in the Smuggler forum, I don't think it's right to do that either. None of the professions forums should be used for trading---that's why we have trade forums for each server. Just because some of us speak up to protect the integrity of the WS forums doesn't mean we think it's okay for us to advertise in other profession's forums.
