Thread: Anyone ever had an Excpetional Success or Critical Success on Combine? I think I did.

This is the story.
Well, I just got experimentation to 111 and giving me 11th point. (FYI assemblywas at 116.) To celebrate I decided to use all the high powered VB Motors i had been hoarding. (all base +20's)
Well, i had managed to scrape together 20 of them, from loot/bazaar/customers/whatever, and went about putting them all into AVBU's.
I had been doing this tedious task for about 15 minutes and was on auto-pilot. Well, on the 20th one i did the initial combine and went to experiment so fast i never realized what happened until i was looking at an AVBU that i could Exp damage up to 72% on. Thestats started at 18%, as opposed to the 10% i had been used to seeing.I don't know if it was a critical success or what, but all others were limited to 46% because of the Desh Copper i had. It was my assumption that desh coppersUT is limited to <= 450 therfore never allowing AVBU's to go above 50% experimentation. Anyway fact of the matter is that, even barring a moderate success mid exp, it came out to be:

Which was +10/+20 and -0.20 better than all my other enhanced AVBU's. Needless to say i was very very excited. I just really really wish i had seen wha the message was, Critical Success or whatever.
So then i go to put this exceptional AVBU into a VK and i'll be damned if i didn't get a Failure on 1pt of experimentation. i was heart-broken. It ended with the VK +0.20spd and -5/-10 from what i calculated that AVBU would bring me.

So then I, of course did what all other rational WS's would do and crafted 20 more AVBU's, non-enhanced mind you,none even coming close to this awesome AVBU. Well, wanted to share see if anyone else has had same or has seen a better VK, barring of course Looted VBU's. oh and BTW got it Sliced......32% dmg. it is now min 64 max 230!! So i calculate with a 16.2% max dmg pup it will be 64/266-7.

Yeah this is a known issue/bug that is way to hard to replicate and will probably never be fixed. Just consider yourself luck, like you won the lotto 
. This has happened before on components, I remember seeing some posts on these forums.

I had something like this happen to me on T-21 rifles. I was able to get max damage up to 424 without using Crafting Day components. Needless to say, I made a schematic out of it.

I have had 2. both dxr6-bs, and i think both with yellow text cube.
Both times the exp line was up to 85%.
My memory is a bit flakey on these, but they came out around 415 max damage when they should have been 375.

Im a 12 pt and had my only "exceptional" success on an advanced vk unit made with the plus 20 damage nyms motor. I didnt jot down the stats but the finished vk was 50-186 unsliced 1164/1164 condition. Needless to say I had to auction that bad boy. Unfortunately for the buyer, It got a speed slice
