What are the stats on the best Tangle Pistol that can be made by a master weaponsmith?

all depends on the server and the materials they have to work with

on starsider tangles only get up around 105 damage base, but its a stun weapons, so you get a few and hope for a 30 percent damage slice then stick a powerup on it and use it for pvp.

That is really the only use the gun has, composite armor has no resistance to stun and a tangle with a good slice and powerup will do roughly 185 damage. They are decent against a player in composite, but thats all they are really good for, except for a few mobs that are weak to stun.

The previous poster is forgetting one use of Tangle pistols.

Since they are stun weapons, some creatures take a lot more damage with it than other pistols. Just as an example, a pistoleer shooting at a Kimogila using a tangle pistol will do more damage than any other pistol, since the Kimo is vulnerable to stun. I've done this myself with a Tangle vs. a DX2 (acid), FWG5 (heat) or SR (energy, AP).

Totally situational. But I have one I use. The speed is Horrible, maybe 3.0 at best, damage maxed is around 105 on my server too. But I have come up againt things that were only vulnerable to stun. So I use it sometimes.

Yeah, stats on tangles are just horrible. They're a weapon of last resort when the only vulnerability is stun.

Even if the target is stun vulnerable, the tangle's stats are so awful it'll perform worse than other pistols unless the target has medium/heavy armor and/or very high resists to everything else.

Now what if you made a Tangle Pistol with Krayt tissue?

striker and tangle are needed for dathomir and once in a while elsewhere. lots of mobs have over 50% and light armor to other damage types, most dath mob's have 80-100 to everything but kinetic and sometime stun.

Just got this list, and updated it a bit:

krayt tissue is put in power handlers and associated with energy weapons.

VK = Nym or Jawa vibro motor

scout,dh17,SR,DX2,DL44,Power5 = krayt (or Nym Capacators)

Striker, Tangle = nym feed mechanism

FWG5, Scatter, Launcher = both krayt or Nym caps AND Nym feed mechanism

Nym's are found on LOK if you didnt know. Vibro motors can be looted from Nym's and Jawas.

...so the point of posting what guns use what above is that tangle just uses the Nym Feeder. Caps and Krayt cannot be used. =-0

Oh goodness I was wondering about this im a master weaponsmith on starsider ive made about 10 of these guns (note i had to pay a good master artisan for the control units) and i havent got past 105max damage i am ashamed to sell such a crappy gun it cost so much to make and its worth so little it seems hardly worth it.. I make them upon request only i wanted to charge about 12k for it for all the agrivation it cost to make it but because of speed and damage output i cant bring myself to charge more the 4k for it....it would be cheaper if it didnt need so many control units

If I remember correctly the tangle pistol used feed mechanisms so they can be enhanced with spider teeth. And yes the spider teeth is from the geo cave.
