hello everyone,

as the title says i just brought my weaponsmith out of reitrement. i let the subscription expire back a few monthes before the CU to finish my jedi grind. Now i am finished and am attempting to get back on my feet. hehe sadly i lost everything that was not on my char due to the fact that i was gone so long. So i am currently attempting to rebuild my stockpile of uber resources.

So i log him in today and start to craft. I went to make a schem for a factory run on some adv. blaster handlers. I can't seem to reach the damage i had on a crate of Pre CU blaster handlers. I was under the impression that converted stuff was weaker then post CU weapons. I was using the same resources and everything. Maybe it was how i used my experimentation points. But i was wondering under the new system how should i distribute my exp. points?

Also i would much appreciate any advice anyone has about how things have changed after the CU regarding weaponsmith. Thank you in advance to anyone that responds.

Post CU components are not better than the Pre-CU stuff.

Lot of posts about this, but I can kind of sum it up for you. The consensus seems to be to max the speed on components and damage on weapons. Leftover points can go in either damage or efficiency on comps; speed, eff or elemental damage on weapons. But the highest DPS always seems to come from speed/damage on comps and damage/speed on weapons. Play around with it and see what sells.

Pre CU comps are superior in everything. I used mine up figuring a hotfix would take care of that. If you have any, you can either craft the best weapons you can or hoard them and treat them like pre nerf FWG5's.

FWIW, I was out of the game 6 months and came back like you did. Fortunately I had some really good stuff in my backpack and in the bank. Did a lot of bottom feeding when several WS went out of business. Between that nad just some dogged searching for resources, I've been able to get back up and running in a couple of months.

But I think it's a good time to get back in. With several WS quitting, relatively inexpensive resources and high demand due to the CU, sales are good. I'm not crazy about the combat changes, but it has reinvigorated sales.

There are a very limited number of weapons that really sell: adv laser rifles, dl 44 xt, elite carabines, high capacity scatter.

If you have pre-CU components (stocks, scopes, barrels) keep them only for yourself and your lovers. Use them with 150+ krayt tissues and you're likely to break the 350 base dps barrier.

There are just a few resources you will need for these weapons, offer love and money to get whatever is beston your server. Do not forget to use to good effect the 3-4 veteran rewards (free resources) you should have hoarded out of principle.

Last piece of advice... don't have your best stuff sliced. You may end up with a negative slice that will worsen your weapon. In my book, this is the thing that I hate most about the CU (well, that and the horrible icons).
