Thread: Stun Baton Questions

I've heard that acklay bones, unlike krayt, are components rather than additives. If that's the case, how would acklay bones be used in the assembly of a stun baton? I have some bones at 120 min 95 max dmg that I wanna make a stun baton with. If the guy who makes it makes 90-133 dmg stun batons already, what will the damage most likely be? (ish) PLZ HELP!
Well this guy's SBs are identical to mine so I assume his reinf cores are almost the same too. Currently my reinf cores are 42/42 min/max dmg. The core adds to the final stats of the weapon so if yousubtract 42/42 from 90/133 you get 48/91.
Now add the 48/91 to your acklay bones (they are used INSTEAD of a core) and the resulting SB should come out (experimentation depending) at 168/186. The SB will be about .5/.6 slower as the bones have no speed mod and the range may be a little screwy too, but farkly who cares? That thing in the hands of a master fencer is gonna hurt.
Well, they do add to stats. They just don't have a speed modifier. At least they aren't like rancor teeth. A component that actually add a speed mod in a bad way. Its positive.
Actually alot of ranged weapons get the shaft with krayt tissue. Any of the great weapons require multiples of tissue. One gets blown in schematic, and you still could get critical failured. Melee weapons on the other hand are relatively simple to make, and to perfect.
Take the power handler for example five ingredients that need to be uber. Then you start experimenting which can really blow up in your face. Nothing more depressing then haveing that handler climb to the roof then one crit failure turns a fantastic tissue into an okay one.
Simply put with melee weapons there is lesser risk. Fewer resources to foul it. Less experimentation, and no wastage. The system is balanced. A ranged weapon is a higher risk, and so should be able to net a greater reward if it succeeds. Where as core substitutes are already a guarantee. Though I would suggest with any smith you use find out the stats on their byrothis. This is the key to a fine stun batton.
Find the WS you want to craft your weapon Look at the stats of his unenhanced Stun Batons then Subtract that from the Damage cab and that is the sttas you want the bones to have.
Be adviced thou, Acklay bones dont have a SAC reduction so the SAC on weapons made with Bones is very high (120+)
