if after you get to master, and your weapon after experimentation is at or above 80% experimental dmg, then you have yourself a decent weapon of course, you would want to get it up around 90 or above

Just started weaonsmithing and was wondering if epope had compiled a list of what is a "decent" craft for various weapons, any advice would be great

You will have a good weapon if:
Your resources are very good (All at least 80% of max stats)
Your experimentation results were good. (Moderate success = junk it and try again)
Having 12 points is just gravy, because youcan then work on range or Hams on your components and on the final build, beef up the condition.

A decent weapon is one you can sell repeatedly and have happy customers.
If you're selling 35-110 @ 2.5 DL44 pistols for 1200cr each to new players from a shop outside Mos Eisley and you're struggling to keep your vendor stocked... then you're selling a decent weapon!

Hey, I understand your plight. I tried to start a post like this a while back, and the not-so-helpful people on this forum responded with a "search through all the forum posts, people always post their results..." Here is a link to that page:

If you would like, after I work tonight, I could gather all the data for the weapons I have been making and post the stats in one big post (as a reply to this one).

I have some stats listed in my website (link in my sig).. these are only really valid for chilastra, but should be close to other servers also. please not v1.8.8 weapons are made on patch day and cannot be matched with current experimentation.

Since the resources are different on each server, a "good" weapon will be different on each server.
The best way to see how your weapons are stacking up is to do a little comparison window shopping around your server. There are generally several well-known weaponsmiths on each server. Check out your server's forum for thier shop locations and see what they are making.
This is also a great way to see what different types of weapons are selling for.

I judge whether or not my weapons are good is by whether or not they are better than the ones my Customers traded Up for.
I have made several very nice weapons that newbie BH's would scoff at. Two BH customers of mine wanted special modifications made to their carbines and scatter pistols. I crafted soem dandies and they were very excited because you cant buy them.
Everyone seems to go for max dmg. These had decent damage and very nice accuracy. So they were not above 80% in ANY experimentation tree, but I consider them awesome, custom-tailored BH weaponry. And my customers keep coming back.
So placing a number on your weapons is not a good measure of their quality.
QUALITY is DEFINED by your CUSTOMERS. Not by us.

Try this thread. Naturally as stated above with different resources on different server stats will vary but it's something to shoot for and possibly surpass.

I look at the name son my vendors, I know I am making a good product if I see the same names popping up to but their gear from me. Thats satisfaction, especially knowing that there are lots of Weapons Vendors on every server.
