Do sliced weapons still drop like a brick, durability wise?

If so explain why.

If not explian why, they used to.

Be one with the nerf.
Let the nerf flow through you.
Only by accepting that there is no nerf will you truly gain controll.
There is no nerf, only balance.

I notice no durability wear increase on sliced weapons. The only way they will wear faster is if perhaps you get a very good speed slice, and as the weapon fires more times in a give period it will wear faster.

i just bought a Scout Blaster lastnight at a reputable weaponsmith's shop on Tattooine. i like it so far, it seems to be a fairly well balanced pistol. the gun is unsliced, and im wondering if i should get it sliced. i have had a few weapons so far that have been sliced and some that havent....but im still somewhat unclear on EXACTLY what slicing does. i know that it can boost certain performance #'s of the weapons (such as damage), but what negative effects can occur to my new weapon from having it sliced? as with most things, when you tweak them to get more of a certain number (such as dmg or speed) there is always some kind of drawback......does slicing cause my weapon to decay faster??? any help would be appreciated, as i am really in the dark here. i just wanted to know the weaponsmith's views on slicing of their weapons and what positives and negatives arise from it.

thanks in advance for any help here.

slicing reduces the durability of the weapon, takes them down from 1000 to about 875 or 850 in my experience.

I've been slicing weapons and stuff a while now and the only drawback i'm getting is that the weapon decays quicker. Not so much quicker but defiantly quicker. BTW I sliced alot of weapons and the durability never drops on me.

Slicing a weapon increases DPS (either damage or speed). I believe weapon decay is based on damage dealt so increased DPS=Increased damage=faster decay rate. I'm not aware of any other side effects, but it should cause faster decay or lower repair chance...otherwise it's just a free improvement.

can you get improvements in both damage AND speed, or do you have to choose one or the other? also, can the wound % be modified through slicing?

thx again for the help.

You do not choose, it is random and it is Speed OR Damage only.

wound percent cant be imporved, and it is random between attack speed and dammage.

Nope, its an either or situation. I have never noticed any changes in the wound chance from slicing. Also, slicing does not lower the durabilty, it does slightly increase the decay rate. It might be related to the dps increase.

I know this is a Rifleman board and slicing weapons has little or no place here, but give me a minute. In the Smuggler board we are debating a slicing issue. As Smugglers we obviously has the ability to slice weapons. It takes a lot of time and weapons to level up this skill. You may have noticed that some Smugglers charge a small fee to do this, while others offer their services at no cost. We (mostly myself) are wondering what your opinions are on this. I know that most of you would probably not pay to have a weapon upgraded, but give me anotherminute. I know that rifles are not cheap. Most of you pay in excess of 20k for a good rifle. Sohow many of you wouldpay an additional 10% to upgrade your weapon an additional 20%. This is how many Smugglers would like to do business. We would like to charge (on average) 2000cr for a weapon slice. Intermediate Slicers can slice a weapon within a range of 10-25%. Master Smugglers can slice between 15-35%. I'm just wondering if you think we are ripping you off for charging 2k for upgrading a weapon. Let me know and I'll let the rest of the Smuggling world know too.

Well, I'm working on smuggler as well, but I know that I won't be charging for slices, even at Master. Tips are welcome. I just don't see the need in charging people for slices.
