Thread: Planning for the Patch 7 Chaos

I want to plan and take action now regarding the changes to experimentation that will come with Patch 7. If you are a weaponsmith on TC or have first hand knowledge, maybe you can answer these questions I have:

After the patch, did your old schematics still work and produce the same stat weapons? Can I rely on just making a completely new set of schematics that will produce pre-patch 7 stat components and weapons?

OR

Do I need to fire up a dozen factories and produce as many components and weapons now so as to be well stocked with pre-patch 7 weaponry?

That's a REALLY good question, and one I'm interested in knowing the answer to as well. My manufacturing facilities aren't geared to massive production, but I have a good set of schematics that I use, and produce components and final products as needed.

As I understand it, you will still use the same schematics after the patch - only the way you are allowed to spend your experimentation points will change. In some cases this will cause new weapons made after the patch (with your regular schematics) to end up with slightly worse overall stats. If I understand this right, then Damage will be the same if you experiment it to max, but you will have no points over to reduce HAM cost, etc.

Howdy;

NOT SURE, but think there is some sort of cut off point. I currently have 14 weapons in crates that says CANNOT USE IN GAME, and am waiting for CSR to explain Why ?

They are FWG's made this side of the POW nerf, and really are not all that hot anyway. Seems like they were made too long ago or something !? Am really concerned since I currently have a rather large order of items in crates and need to know if there IS a months or whatever cutoff on these stored items.

The question is not whether the patch will affect existing weapon schematics in your pad; that goes without saying that experimentation will change what results out of these.
The question is whether the patch will affect already-experimented and produced MANUFACTURING Schematics. I.e., ones that you plug into your factory to produce the final item.

The patch wont change scems already made at all. The reason pre nerf pistols in crates got messed up is because the scematic to make them changed so they dont take handlers anymore. An crate is not 25 items its 1 item. Wen you take the item out the server "insta-crafts" it. And sence the weapon no longer uses a power handler it cant insta-craft it the same way....so you get the message. With the new system all the resorces etc will be the same so this wont be an issue. Just make sure you have the resorces to fill your soon to be pre nerf scematics.

I would store as many loose weapons as I could. Put them on vendors, in factories or around the house.

I have been folowing the whole crated "pre-nerf" weapons discussion.

At first I was told by a CSR it was done because the stats were unbalancing.

Then the insta-crafting reason which makes sense.

Then they were going to come out fine.

Now they are going to come out "adjusted"

Dont be so sure when you go to use your scematics in the future you wont get a new message that says these resources arent vaild for this scematic.

All I am saying as a future "pre-nerf" consumer.....play it safe and stash loose weapons anywhere you can.

please, take the time now to craft all ofyour schmatics, they will work post patch. The patch doesn't alter the schemtic build, only your ability to experiment, so I would make sure that I have schematics for any component that benefits from multi line experimentation, then a schematic that uses those components in a final combine.

The items I see being most affected by this will be rifles, carbines, anything with a vibromotor, and heavy weapons. Remember, there will still be a market for items that don't have as high of damage, but have a low ham for masters, and I don't see pistols as being too hurt, because you can use powerups to reduce the speed on them until you hit the master level. Any item that looks for a low ham, and high damage output to be marketable will be the most impacted.

And who would suffer from a stack of advanced power handler schematics?

TH said they're writing up a "long post" on this that should go up "sometime this week"; I'm waiting for that before I do anything. Patch probably won't be for at least two weeks so that's plenty of time to do whatever becomes necessary.

if you remember when they nerfed those FWG5's there were a lot of smiths that gambled that pre-made schematics would work and didnt bother to do the factory runs. Surprised they were to find their old schematics didnt work when loaded into the factory. Without a concrete answer we cannot assume. TC was not even able to give us the heads up on the schematics, they didnt purge theirs till our patch went live.

actually the pre-nerfs in the crates were nerf'd several months later - up till then they were fine - soe learned how to do that so don't be surpised if they do it again....they could also invalidate every schematic out there and make us all craft new ones to keep an even playing field...ultra paranoid types will probably makes 1000's of weapons and store them all on vendors since vendors have no limits...soe could still put in the vendor limit they threatened to really screw us over completely

Well, this can't be the whole truth. Because that doesn't explain why for example crates of weapon repair tools become bugged too. And why some of them work and some don't, even with the same serial!
