The easiest is metal staves as you only need metal (any kind)

The fastest is heavy warhead mechanisms (once you have munitions 2)

ok, as i seem to be doing the right grinding, what would people recomend for profession?

i've got 0200, and if what im grinding right now is the best hope i've got of mastering weaponsmith.

so what would be my best bet for doing this in a way thats going to be remotly fun and have a chance in hell of making me a little money.

should i now go for 0204, so i can make good weapons, then progress from there to finishing mastering the profession making what i want?

There are a few guides out there on this but i tend to disagree with them, although i've hardly started really.

I started off with grinding metal staffs, then picked up intermediate fire arms and then moved on to grinding projectile rifle barrels (not much more xp from staffs, quick to craft and give 96xp in practice mode with a 9 second production time, so only needs two crafting tools and a lot of metal, no multiple inputs, just keep on clicking.

just picked up advanced fire arms myself about 30 mins ago and got nothing new to grind with, just new guns to make, so i guess its back to the harvesters to get more steel and grind more barels...

just come back here myself to see if there is anything good comming up for my to craft with...

That is close to the way I did it, but I used projectile pistol barrels to start, but that was many eons ago. Now that I am FS crafting, I am crafting Large Warheads from munitions III. yeah it takes 80 seconds to make, but 738 (give or take a few) while practicing per, and I used 5 tool kits. The problem with this is you need the resources for it and they are hard to find.

The stuff you make before master is going to suck. I'd grind out with heavy warheads (I am doing this presently).

I have 12 crafting tools and three macros which loop into each other. It's described above in the sticky. works very well.

The most important thing is going to be getting the right resources. Start doing some reading of swgcraft and find the resources that you will need and start getting the best stuff you can. High UT metals and high CD/OQ metals are a must have. There are a lot of specific resources that you will need and will want to keep an eye out for.

HA! You want to advance as a weaponsmith while having fun? Good luck with that. You might get to have a little fun after the grind is over, or maybe in between grinding sessions, even, but there's no making the grind fun, and the fun will be in spite of the game, not because of it. Try a different game if you want fun.
