A little tale of angst sorrow and overcomeing. First of all I would like to say the following always get a waranty on your pc. Fortunately I bought my pc at best buy, and forked over a couple crisp 100 dollar bills for the extended warranty you know the works with in home repair. Well last week as I was killing tuskens in fort tusken I heard the fan in my pc explode. I quickly ran out of fort tusken down the hill and turned off my pc. Needless to say the fan in my power unit was toast, and the next day I called up bestbuy to get a guy to come out and fix it. It took about five days. He came out and spent I kid you not 3 hours in my pc. He replaced the unit he benchtested. No go apparantly the fan unit he got to replace it with was borked. So he had to make another visit. This time he came with a mother board and a power unit just incase the bad unit burned out my motherboard. Needless to say the new motherboard apparantly was borked. So he reinstalled the old board and the new power unit, and eureka. Sadly all my data was wiped by that point, but he started up the recovery system, and finally after another three hours my pc was back up and running. Sans all my programs. A slight tear but a smile. Data can be redownloaded a working pc cannot.

Needless to say I feal a little clap for a decent company is in order. No trying to weasel out of the waranty great customer service on sight no less. Hell the repair man was always on time.

Now while I was gone I missed the second meeting and am curious what was discussed? I so wanted to show, but running a computer without a working powerfan is suicide.

Welcome back. I feel your pain. Last month the power supply in my computer blew and took out the hard drive. Finally got that fixed then half of the RAM in my wife's computer blew up. Took a while to figure that out, but at least a new stick is being shipped. God, computers suck sometimes, but without them... we wouldn't be able to play.

It helped that I was uptop when it happened. Like I was going to let those modded clothes I looted decay.

Ah but I have a warranty on a near three year old machine. Sadly I think it wasted one of my ram cards. So I have to go in the guts. Made me fume since it was my third party 512 mb chip. Oh well thats only 50 bucks. Playing the game on 256 sucks. Then again maybe the pull and plug will work better if I switch up the chips. Gotta tell you guys how that goes.

I've found that even with 512MB, there is still substantial lag when playing. The game wants to take at least 700MB, so I think 1GB is the minimum you should have for SWG.

If your system supports it, use DDR memory. I'd suggest taking a look at MWave's site. They have a special on for Corsair 512MB DDR for $64.

My machine came with 512 installed two cards of 256 I later switched out one card with a 512 mb. So i had 768 before my machine blew up. It ran decent there were some lag area here and there. I am also running a radeon 9600 xt with 128 built in. So I was running a pretty comparable system. Like I said I have to tell you guys how it comes out just getting ready to go back into the guts of my machine today. Switching about ram chips is a total pain.

Ppl these days will spends hundreds on 3 ghz cpu's and only have 512mb of RAM, i had an 800 mhz cpu 1.5 gb of ram and it out performed my mates 2.2ghz 512 ram, ive now got a 2.8 and 2gb of 400mhz ram. For ne one listening, the best and cheapest way to increase the performance and longevity of your rig is ram baby all the way. Congrats on the service tho man, i hear horror stories of denial of policy all the time, altho he should have tested the PSU on a dummy HDD that wouldnt kill your info

I switched up my cards and am no longer getting the lack of ram response on logging the game though I still seem to have alot of lag. Plus I cannot travel without a total disconnect I am starting to think there may be driver issues at play here. Perhaps rerun my applications software and try to look for a non package driver on the manufacturers site. Whats blowing my mind is how smooth my system is running even in game. My machine was always a noisy mofo and its sounding so smooth I have to wonder what exactly is going down. I am running galaxies an intensive program, and its running way too quiet for my likeing.

Right now I am haveing mini lockups and can only run smooth for like six seconds before another stopage. I crash out in travel like the system just cannot handle it, and yet everything is high detail its very confuseing. I go into the graphics settings, and they say all low rez but the world still looks ultra detailed.

Its gotta be some kind of driver issue.
