I hear a lot about 12 pt experimentation, and how expensive it is to get, but what about getting the +2 assembly?
I assume you get it from skill tapes/attachments. What would be the average price for this and how effective can it be? I'm assuming it helps a good deal.

Do you mean +25 assembly?
+125 assembly is the most you can get with +25 being throughtapes. You can get a further +10 with a Rodian or Mon Cal bringing it to +135. This will reduce the number of times you get a critical failure and, obviously, increase the amount you get a good assembly.
I paid 2.5 mil for a +2 CA today but that was a buyout, so i'd say expect to pay around 800 - 1 million per point give or take a few credits.
Hope this helps

Well, I´ve got +26 on assembly and I´m a mon calamar too, I hardly ever had a critical failure on intitial crafting. Very often I get an amazing success with once and a while a critical success.
Its worth it in my opinion

Right now on Naritus:
+6 Weapon XP 16 million (Getting ready to close)
+10 Weapon XP 15 million (Just started yesterday)
+10 Weapon Assembly 10 Million (Just started yesterday)
The Assembly tape will go up, those resource kits are hurting my bank account right now (12 total). The +10 XP will probably hit 20 million or over that. There are not a lot of new weaponsmiths but the old ones appearently want to make new suits.

At those prices, I'm just going to have to settle for my base stats for awhile. Hopefully I'll be able to make some money. I'm on eclipse and it just seems there's 12 pt ws everywhere.
ps...yes I meant 2pts not +2.

Assembly is good to have, but doesnt have any link to the actual Expirement stage of crafting...you'll notice most Master WS wont get anything less than a Great Sucess on Assembly anyway, its best to save your money...and you can always use Pyollian Cake
I've been a standard 10pt WS for awhile and couldnt justify spending a lot of money on tapes. My advice to you, if you are new to WS, is buy some of he older WS resources if you dont have them. Resources count for ALOT more than EXP points when you are first starting.
My 10pt weapons are just as good as a new 12pt's because I've got the resources that make the weapons that little bit better...

Assembly goes for a bit under 1M per point, assuming theres 3+ on one CA. In my opinion, it's worth it. I recently bought a +16 SEA which bumps me to +27 (Cap is at +25), and with Poly cake, every second assembly I get is amazing. Theoretically, if your resources were all 100% (meaning you could experiment one line, ie. Damage and speed, up to 100%), a great success would place your starting values at 23-25%, while amazing success goes from 26-30%. So, if you get an amazing assembly, that might mean one less point used in maxing out damage, not to mention that it applies to all stats.
Look at it this way, the difference between a great and an amazing assembly is like you putting 1 point into each 4 rows, so if you're a 10 point 'Smith and you get an amazing combination, to get the same stats a 12 point 'Smith would need to use 4, making him an 8 point smith! (Well, no one really experiments range or encumberance, but it levels the playing field in competing with the other 12 pointers out there.)
I'd say it's worth it, all the way. You might even want to get to +10'ish assembly before you start hunting for experiment CA's, but that's just my opinion.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I belive that critical success is dev speak for amazing success and they aren't two different things you can get.
