Thread: How do i get scopes to show on a weapon?
Other than those issues though I've only been able to get scopes to show on two weapons. The DL44 (which looks very cool) and the FWG5 (which looks kind of dorky). I know the examine doesn't show it but the icon does and it shows up when you hold them. Other than those two however I've never been able to get them to show but I haven't tried every single one of them.
In terms of what I've been able to visually scope:
D18
DL44
DH17.
That's it for now. I've only got FA1.
I know the FWG5 can take a scope and I think the DX2 can as well. I doubt the Republic can, I think the SR-2 can, and there are a few others that can take them as well in the rifles and carbines. Don't know about Power5s, Tangles, or Strikers because I never see anyone make or use them.
Scouts, however, definitely will not show scopes.
Almost all weapons will take scopes (exceptions being flamethrower and expendable heavy weapons), most will display them.
You must remove the scope from its crate before doubleclicking it in your crafting tool. It doesn't matter whether the scope is hand-made or from a factory, it just has to be loose in your inventory.
Weapons produced in a factory will not have visible scopes.
Scout blaster, republic blaster, scatter and launcher pistols, and maybe another one or two obscure guns will never have visible scopes. Everything else that can take a scope will show it if crafted properly.
I've noticed scopes appear on the following pistols:
D18
DL44
DL44 Metal
FWG5
SR Combat
This was using factory crafted scopes pulled from a crate, but the pistols themselves were hand-crafted. Also, the D18 and DL44 Metal can show different barrels too (the D18 can be make to look like it has a silencer on it), but only if they are hand-crafted.

I make all my DX2's with adv 0 HAM scopes (and lets face it, the need one) and I've found that certain scope types will show up where others will not.
You do need to have them out of crate and they don't show from factory even when you put them in individually.
I always thought that certain scope types were meant for certain weapons and that they would not show up on other weapon types. This only appears to be the case for some guns. A curious thing I've found is when scoping a laser rifle that the scope points perpendicular to the barrel (LOL) but it still does what it's intended for so no harm done...

Interesting...now THAT I didn't know. I thought that if it could take one kind of scope, it could take 'em all.
Oh, the same is true for barrels, by the way. Certain rifles, carbines, and pistols will show different barrel types, but many will not, and some will only show one type of barrel no matter what you put on (IE: DLT20).
I think most weapons will NOT show stocks, but I'm not certain about this one.
I wish you could really customize your weapons like this, with different scopes, stocks, barrels, etc. and that you could do it with ALL weapons, even the CDEFs. If you go to one of the guild halls that has weaponsmith trainers in 'em, you can see all sorts of neat looking guns with different add-on pieces.
You need to hand assemble the weapon. Also you need to take the scope out of the crate before starting the process, meaning don't click on it from the crafting screen. On some weapons, I don't have the list in front of me, I also have to hand assemble the scopes for them to appear on the weapon.
