Thread: Ok, So What EXACTLY does wound do?
Isn't it really only applicable to PvP? I mean, in PvE you just stand there and wail away on the critter till it keels over when you drop a HAM bar to zero. There's not really much chance for wounds to play a role in PvE, is there?

only on the huge mobs like krayts... its just more noticable in PvP than PvE as the critter is usually dead before you see their ham bars start to blacken
wound is a percentage and a chance
say your weapon has 50% wound... this weapon has a 50% chance to applyup to an extra 50%of damage done as wounds...
you hit your target with this 50% wound weapon and do 800 points of damage... there is a 50/50 chance you will do up to 400 wounds ON TOP of the damage dealt... these are applied concurrently and will NOT do 1200 points of damage but rather 800 damage and up to 400 HAM wounds to your target... this wounding number is modified by many other things so this is not a constant... but the higher the number the more damage to stats you will do... this gets especially nasty in PvP and the heavier hitting weapons (flamer, t-21, Vlbro Long Axe, 2h Cleaver, Power Hammer, et. all)

so a 20% weapon has 20% chance of applying wounds and does 20% of actual damage dealt as wounds?
ok, simple enough, I guess this explains alot. information most appreciated, thank you.
