I am a relatively new WS, and would be interested in the results of such a survey. I believe that it would provide a useful reference when making certain of the subcomponents and weapons as to the quality of any batch of weapons made. This would be for standard, preslicedcrafted weapons only.... not using the genosian cubes or aklay bones or krayt tissue etc.

I understand that different servers spawn different resources with different stats at different times, but despite that, I would imagine that broadly speaking, the performance of the weapons would be similar. We will all be using the best OQ/CON or SR/HR materials we can find of the appropriate class of metal for instance, and it is likely that a 950plus SR steel will have spawned on every server, irrespective of name.

The other issue I guess would be the use of stocks and scopes, since they can be experimented for damage, range and HAM.

Most customers for the weapons tend to be interested in two basic pieces of information about any weapon though..... Speed and Max/Min damage.

I would also like to see a look up table for certain of the more commonly used subcomponents as well.... such as the advanced power handler, advanced vibro blade unit, sword core adv.blaster pistol barrel etcetc.

Two questions therefore...

1. Does such a performance survey already exist, to anyones knowledge?

2.Would anyone else be interested in such a survey?

i just made master weaponsmith and i tried to find something like this. i can't help you other than to say that yes i'm interested.in such a survey. i haven't made enough weapons yet to know how i'm doing relative to others.

Like the previous poster, I am a new Master as well, having been 3124 for a couple of months, and just now deciding that I should finish it off and not leave myself dangling.

Personally, I plan to specialize/concentrate on Melee and Mines (XG). I find too many WS out there that makes blasters, thus don't see myself trying to squeeze into an already tight market.

Bad enough, I'm also a DE. *haha*

One WS friend of mine, said that most folks look mainly for speed/dmg. Not many people care for range.

When I start working up the swords and knucklers... I plan to make two sets or three. Speed, Range and balanced, to see which would work well for sales. Price them all the same. *shrugs* Maybe it's a bad idea.

But yes, I too would be interested in seeing this survey.

Personally, I would still find this a useful idea, but judging by the number of responses, it has either a) been done b4, or b) peeps arent that interested.

Another post on this same board was asking for a similar thing recently, and one poster responded with alink to this thread, which is kind of what i was looking for... you may also find it useful.
