Ok this may sound like a dumb question but I am new to weaponsmith. I have noticed a comment about the wound % category isnt really worth anything so that one is out.
But..... is damage where you want to put all your experimental points?? Or do you go more for the speed route??
Well to make this easy.... What is the most important area toput your experimental points too?
Thanks

not to be an ass but perhaps you should try actually going through the experimentation process... you'll find that damage, speed and wound are all in the same experimentation line.

Ok you got me on that one....yes I didnt actually notice that the damage and speed worked in the same category. The main question was where most put their xp points since you get 4 areas to experiment in. Thanks for the reply.

Unless you have specific requests for something different, max out damage. Once you've done that you have a couple options depending on the situation.
a) its a loot-enhanced weapon, ie.. Krayt, Nym, etc. Your customer is probably best served by putting points into durability to raise the max condition. Talk to your customer, tell them Ok, damage is maxed out and I have X number of points left to spend. Where would you like me to spend them? A PVP'r might say screw condition, raise range as far as you can.
b) its not a loot-enhanced weapon. Here some would argue that your best interest is served by leaving durability low. If the weapon falls apart faster well they'll be back to buy sooner.
Each point into range or eff will *generally* raise or lower by 1 point. A lot of trial and error here will give you the knowledge of what will happen. For instance when I make Acklay batons, I usually have 3 points leftover to spend. The first point into range will raise it from -2 to -1. If I spend another point in range, nothing will happen (even on amazing success for me). Its a wasted point.
Start playing around with the popular weapons and see what you can get. Then run around to some of the popular WS shops on your server and compare. Maybe the damage on your VK's is good but your range is low in comparison. etc.

I forgot, scopes don't have a damage stat so spending points in damage will only raise the wounding. Your points are better spent in range and ham in this case.

Thanks for the info, you've been very helpful. That was exactly the kind of info I was looking for.

You seem to get better results if you use your points in groups of two at a time. I have gotten far mor great successes experimenting when using two points at a time instead of the whole line at once.
