Last night I wanted to get some slicing done on some weapons that i made for personal use so I give my friend the smuggler a crate with three Laser Carbs and two individual Laser Carbs that were hand crafted so the components were viewable.

he gives me back the sliced weapons and I notice that on the ones that he removed from the crate havehis name as the Object Creator.

Is this a new bug, or has it always been this way??? I don't sell sliced weapons so I've never handed a crate of weapons to a smuggler before. I know there was a bug in the past that changed the name to that of the slicer but i thought that was fixed.

With the upcoming vendor nerfs I was considering selling crates as a way to maximize the number of items i can place on my vendor. However there is no way i will sell crated weapons if there is a possibility that they will have someone elsesname on them when pulled from the crate.

I just double checked and only two of the three LC's that he pulled from the crate have the slicers name. The third has my name as the object creator.

This was done to give credit to people who made actually made the items. however it is flawed.

old system, I build a weapon, I make it in a factory owned by me, jimbob takes item from crate, jimbob is the creator

new system, I build a weapon, I make it in a factory owned by me, jimbob takes item from crate, I am the creator

the way around this is to MAKE jimbob the creator is to have jimbobSPLIT the crates until they are singles and then open it, he them becomes the creator.

I don't own my own factories so what I do to put my name on the items is just that, split into crates of 1 then take item out. else it says my friends name as creator if I do 1 by 1. This only works on the crates you split. So you actually end up with 24 with your name and 1 with theirs.

Regardless I always title my weapons

85-315 laser carbinbe3.4 (Charb)

God is the creator.
