Thread: Profession rewards ?

Hello,
we got the veteran rewards now for playing a long time SWG, thats nothing really new, in nearly
any MMORPG you will get vet rewards.
But whats about a profession reward if you have a long time the same profession ?
This would be really new.
As i am just crafting DXR6 (b) disruptor rifles i got an idea about benefit oldschool weaponsmith.
The (b) in this Rifle seems to stand for the version number.
Why not give old weaponsmith the possibilty to craft different versions of any weapon ?
Lets say you are since 3 month WS and lets say a normal DL44 metal pistol is version (a) then with your apperentice after 3 month of weapon crafting you would be able to craft a new version of this DL44 metal ... version number (b).
This version could have for example 2 dam more than a version (a) DL44 in base stats.
If you are since 6 month a WS the version (c) could be like that .... the DL44 metal starts also with -0.1 speed better than the normal one.
And so on ... this would benefit oldschool weaponsmith andi think it would not destroy the balance cause 2 dam more on base stats or maybe 4 for beiing 9 month WS are not too much.

I have always favored profession rewards for crafters. Sometimes it is difficult to keep crafting away and trying to find balance in our compteitive markets. and since we didnt hologrind our profession and drop I do think we should have something extra. I have suggested experience points for longevity. Because honestly at 1 yr as a MWS I will better understand being a MWS than you do after one month. I would like to see WS get an extra expermentation point to use after say 6 months, then at a year cap with a second one. That is only +14 to use total, if you have the suit. And truly wouldnt offset the market too much...how many ACTIVE year+ MWS do you really have on one server?

I think, to emulate the No decay kit, we should get a kit that allows us to make a stack of resources never ending ^_^. Thats more then enough reward for me

Anyway, the idea is nice but it shouldnt be based only on time, because after being a weaponsmith for i think about 7-8 months now i've never crafted a gun so why should i be able to make a better version of a gun i have no experience with making.
It should be a factor of time, and amount of the certain item made, by hand. I say this because its easy to factor schematic one and make 1,000 guns. And you cant make that the only factor because grinding would make the reward pointless. So something like this:
(A):
(B): 1 month, 50 of specific item made
(C): 3 month, 150 specific item made
(D): 6 month, 250 specific item made
...
...
...
...

I like this. A system such as this would also allow for that diveristy of Ws that everyone is always talking about...You could then theoretically become the man to see about a Scout blaster, and man B being the man to see about a Rykk Blade...

How about a new title? After a year or two as a master of one profession, get the word "GRANDMASTER" above your head.

How about you can hold more experimentation points meaning +30 gave you 13 points? But then of course you would have all the noobs saying NOOOO! now I'll never become a 12 pointer. Or you would be on a server with Zina who buys anything and everything.

that would be nothing really new ... in Ultima Online they had added Elder and Legendary master titles.

How about a reduction in factory fees or harvestor fees.. Or even the ability to hold more of these (ie more lots). Another thing I'd really like to see for the dedicated smiths are the ability to hold more items. I mean, everybody knows we have the most amount of loot granted to our profession, and the most amount of different resources needed.
Master Crafters should all be able to have more lots as a matter of fact.
Another idea is being able to craft DoTs into your weapon, or make DoT upgrade kits...
And the grand old idea: being able to actually brand your weapons for everybody to see
