How many WS will try to keep selling sliced weapons? I love the new changes but they seem way to involved to carry out for wholesale.
What do you guys\gals think?

If I were a WS i'd sell em ona vendor for unsliced, one for all into speed, and another for all damage.

Probably both, I'd do maybe a few ie 5 or so of speed/damage type slicing thing in case they don't want to find a smuggler and stock crates as well.

I'm with you on the idea of stocking a few sliced for those that can't find a smuggler, but I don't understand why you would continue to stock crates? A player might still want to buy a few of one type of weapon just so they can try out different slices but I can't think of why anyone would buy a crate of 25 weapons anymore, unless they decay really fast which would be good.

Accelerated Decay Kit; I like the sound of that hehe.
I don't see them increasing my 1000Max powerhammer sales at all, but they will do wonders for my CDEF sales

glad i stopped selling sliced weapons about 2 weeks ago
they take to much time to slice and stock for me
i can play on my alt and kill stuff and have more fun then slicing and stocking.
and it sounds like the new system will take a lot more time to slice weapons as well.

While each individual weapon may take more time to slice, I think overall the amount of time spent slicingmight be about the same or maybe even less. Now you won't have to slice a crate or two of each weapon just to get a few sellable slices...you can slice just a few of each weaponand get exactly what you want from the start. Less waste, in both time and materials.

It sounds to me that when this goes Live any artisan that has smuggler will essentially be getting more experimentation points.
I've never been a smuggler in the past but with the advent of "targeted" stat slicing, it may become essential to stay competitive in the marketplace.
I'm curious to see how this shakes out, myself.

It didn't state that experimentation points will be involved. It stated that at master smuggler you will have 100 enhancement points to spend on the weapon at hand. You can choose where to put the 100 points in, so you don't have to slice tonns of weapons anymore (hehe funny because I ahve 5000 VK's and 3000 PH's left to slice
). I think I will slice 5 weapons for each possible slice part (so probably around 45 weapons). And I will look which will sell the most and stock more of those. I makes the live of a Smuggler/Crafter easier this way. No more 2000 weapons listing with various slice results. Or different vendors for each different slice result.

And thats good. How often did you cry on a bad slice?
And much less tools for slicing is the other good thing.

I haven't sold stocked weapons sliced since my second run of Power Hammers, almost a year ago. Now all I slice are Geo Blasters and DXR-6bs, since I have so many schematics I let the customer choose the slice they want. Speed slices are 65k to 100k while damage slices are 150k to 200k. The only time I slice trophy weapons, enhanced weapons with better than base enhancements (Yellow Barrel/Krayt DE-10s, +70 Krayt Weapons, Above base yellow cube/agent Scythes and acklay weapons) is when they have come off of my vendor twice. This has happened once in the past three monthes, what helps is being in the Busiest Mall on Naritus and a one of the three most popular weaponsmiths quitting and another taking a break until the CU.
My point, slice it if it isn't close to the best. Otherwise, if it ain't broke don't go tryin to fix it.

I still won't sell sliced weaponry.
Considering that slices can now be customized not only to the weapon but to the customer, it's going to be impossible to account for all of the possible variations of slice someone could want. They might want their noob cannon tailored more for accuracy so they miss less, or they might want it slanted towards speed, or perhaps some mix of the two.
I suppose you could still potentially stock the "most popular" slicing arrangements, but -- to me -- it's still too much hassle. My job is to make weapons. If my customers want to cut them up, that's their business. I think you might also find fewer people tweaking their weapons in this fashion given the potential for screw-ups and the accelerated decay. But we'll see.

I wil probably dump my sliced vendor completely. This smuggler revamp has been long awaited by the smugglers... I want them to get the full impact, and thus won't be stocking sliced wares at all. If they want to hack their weap, fine by me. I also like the idea of having base stats on my vendors for weaps. So people always know what they get, just by looking at the name of the weap. Will save them some time and hassle.
