I'm a master commando/tkm on Lowca, and can't seem to find a REALLY good FT anywhere, so I thought I'd try to find whatever loot components are needed to do the job and strike a deal with a WS...So what do I need, krayt tissues or what?

In a word: yes
In my experience, I get the feeling Commandos want to try and achieve good speed on a flamer. Dmg will, on a non krayt enhanced flamer, be 700-800 (with me anyway), and speed will be 4-5. Getting it below 4 for preslice, and then below 3 even after slice, would be uber (Given, I am not, and have never been, a commando, so I can only tell you what customers let me know).
So hunt krayts, and try for the speediest tissue you can get. Dmg tissue of 30-60 won't make much of a difference in a 700-800 dmg weap... The more speed you can get on the tissue itself, the less you need a speed slice on it later. Get -1.5 spd tissue, and a dmg slice, and we are looking at a 2.5 spd 1200 dmg Flamer.. and then, my friend, you are on a roll....

You'll need a set of 5 tissues to make one flamer. Or if you get a stack of 9 matched tissues you can get 2. If speed is what you're looking for, you'll also want to grab a couple of form fitted stocks from the imp theme park.

Most commandos are interested in speed for FT, especially for grinding. If you can't use a form-fitted stock then I'd say don't bother using one at all.
For an unenhanced FT, I can get it up to 840 damage and about 4.6s with a HAM of 75/17/17 without the stock. If you use a stock, you are looking at 880 damage, but now the weapon is at 5.2s and the HAM is about 105/30/30.
With a speed slice, you can get a 3.0s FT that does 840 damage. Most commandos are very happy with that especially when it only costs 25k.
Krayt tissue and a form-fitted stock combined makes a great FT. Expensive, yes, but great.

When choosing your tissues for a FT, speed is EVERYTHING! You can pay big cash or wait forever for a set of tissues with big damage numbers and good speed, but with the speed multiplier of the average FT special, how much is +100 damage going to really help you compared to -1 sec on a weapon that deals almost 1000 damge?
I made a pairfrom some +61/-1.2 Krayt,& the FF stock...
923/923 Cond
2.9 Speed
494-935 Damage
+13/-21/+0 Range Mods
74/17/17 HAM
923/923 Cond
2.9 Speed
494-935 Damage
+13/-21/+0 Range Mods
74/17/17 HAM
These numbers are unsliced.
