Advanced components are worth making but there will be times when you have a choice, for example a blaster rifle barrel does less damage but is faster then the advanced versio but that is getting a bit complicated. Basically to answer your question, yes you should be crafting advanced components they make a big difference.

Speaking of Advanced Components...

I looted some Heavy Projectile Feed Mechinisims the other day. Problem is, I only have 3. Are there specific schematics for Advanced components, or do they happen from superior materials/experimentaion?

As a 3xx3 Artisan (amongst other skills), I'm REALLY looking forward to building some premium bowcasters and such, and want to have everything ready when I get to that point.

- I support balancing the loot tables in space. You can too!

Advanced Components have separate schematics from the normal and require specific resources while the basic versions are more generic. If you post the stats of the parts you looted then I can tell you if they are worth keeping/using.
Im a big fan of bowcasters, they have good stats, any Wookiee is certified for them and they are one of the only weapons that can use both Gorax Bones and Krayt Tissue
