Thread: Critical success Bug or feature? Exploit?

I am talking about when you get a better than normal stats on the initial assembly.

Is this a bug or an intended feature? If it is not intended, is it considered an exploit? I personally don't think it is an exploit since you can not reproduce it and see it more like a random event.

What does SOE say about this? If it happens, should we just be happy or are we making an illegal weapon? (Everyone who would destroy a weapon/schem crafted this way raise your hands! Uhh, don't see any hands raised... lol)

Never happened to me, at least not anything that good I have noticed. Would be nice to get when you make a schem lol

It doesnt seem like a exploitbecause if youget a critical success you cannot reproduceit through a schem. Which means the Devs put in the code where you can only get a prototype for it.

Seems legal to me

Here's my two cents:

Seems to me that if someone went to the trouble to include in the code (orenter into a database) the words:

CRITICAL SUCCESS!!

Thengetting a critical success while craftingcan hardly be called a bug or exploit.

If a condition exists that allowscritical successes to occur more (or less) often, or outside of the conditions, that the programmers intended them to occur, that is a bug.

Now, if you discover a way tomake this bugoccur(such as making this occur at will through a sequence of actions you take), and you repeatedly cause this bug tooccur, then THAT is an exploit (of a bug).

ive yet to see any screenshots with the term critical succses , in my eyes this is exactly the same bug that gives u less % on assembly , just at the other end of the scale , to my knowledge the term critical succses is just a name given to this bug , their is no text in swg with this term that i have seen ,.
ive stumbled upon both of these bugs several times , one gives u crappy assembly results , 1 gives above normal .

So could we get some screenshots of a weapon/component with a critical success?

there isn't a "bug" that gives you less % on assembly...it's called "moderate" assembly and is also a feature working as intended. It does in fact say "the assembly was a critical success" or something to that effect when this occurs.

It is working as intended, and ridiculously rare. Anyone shouting exploit is just jealous that they didn't get one
