Thread: Slicing Info
Sigh, replace one bad idea with another.
What was wrong with using clamps, knives and upgrade kits?
Hmmmm....
Might this also be a boon to sales?
1) I can imagine folks initially buying multiple weapons to play around with the slicing system..see how they want to get weps sliced.
2) After everyone get the hang of it, might people want duplicate sets of weapons in case one breaks at a bad time, i.e. in the Kash. wilderness?
3) Might also people want to have different versions of the same weapon (high speed/high damage) for different purposes? Add in wanting a 'back-up' of each and we might be looking at 4 sales or more for one weapon where in the past we might have only made one.
However it turns out, I'm glad I dropped M. Smugg...I can't imagine how many /tells they're about to get. They better make an explanitory macro or email to head off all the questions headed thier way.
If they make the loot components random drops from randomly spawning monsters(please not krayts as suggested in the thread, Im sooo bored from killing krayts), instead of making it drop in DWB and at the Avatar platform, then id actually love this idea.
I think this is amazing. Its new content and a more fun slicing system than before for the smugglers AND its new content for other professions as well. Awesome. If just they had thourght about this aproach when they decided to make weapons drop finished to add content for combattants. With this approach they would have made them loat schematics and thus added crafting content as well.
I think this will get me to enjoy both hunting and smuggler even more ![]()

Oh also I think they should make the tier 2 require clamps and WUKs, no need to remove one of our schematics.
And I think they removed weapon breakage with this system which I think is a shame, would be nice to add some risk to having sliced weaponry (and people could allways by spare weapons which would have increased our sale
)
Oh,
I also want to point out that ANY content given to Smugglers is welcome. Having (until recently) been one forever, i would welcome just about anything...dance moves, holo-emotes, the ability to hold cigarettes...anything
Chip, chip, chip, chip....
That's the Devs slowly chipping away at the crafting aspect of the game and replacing it with loot drops. God knows that Smugs need some lovin', but I don't think having good slices require loot drops is the best solution. Though it's certainlythe easiest solution...that's why the Devs love loot drops so much;it requires much less testing and fine-tuning.
Slim Vargo, Corbantis
more love for the looters. less love (and reason for being) for crafters
