Hello All,
There are a lot of posts about pricing. I'm on the verg of raising prices on things. Not because it costs me X or Y in resource or time. Simply because I think the market can bear it.
For example I recently make a batch of 25 T21s. I got our slicer to slice 12 of them. I put them on the vendor. The most expensive for about 30k+. I log in and see that all my damage sliced T21s were bought by the same fella. He certainly contributed to my bank account with all his purchases. But I wonder if I should charge more just to slow the mass buyings by a single individual. I guess 30k is a lot for a T21. But really is only 1 misson on Dant. I certainly keep it real for the Peeps and sell unsliced ones for like ~11k so I don't feel like I'm shutting out the poorer folks.
Any thoughts?
Cheers,
Sebun

In your shoes, I'd mail him and ask what was up with the mass-purchase.
Ultimately, if all you care about is the bottom line, then it doesn't matter if he was buying to resell.
If you don't like him doing so, mail him and let him know. If he gives you grief, ban him from *your* shop.
At least, that's what I'd do.

heheheh I like it. I never thought of banning him. I'd have to ask whats up first of course. (or do I? muahahaha!)
Great feedback Brilyn.
Do others find themselves banning people from their shops much? Of course I care about the bottom line. But I do want to have a variety of stuff. I don't like selling out quick. VKs seem to be the worst. I'll get 25 sliced and all the high damages are gone. (197 max woot)

I walk both sides of the fence. On Ahazi as a Master Weaponsmith, Master Artisan, Master Pistoleer ... but on Tempest .... Master Rifleman.
As a Weaponsmith I see prices for doc buffs, entainers buffs and on and on increase many times over while weapon prices are either stagnant or are slipping (some might argue plumet). So it is very easy to see from the smiths perspective that his weapons should cost more. Look at a case of V. Brandy. Just bought a (25) case on Tempest for 130K ! Completely out of reason.
Setting the stage a little further, grinding rifle on Tempest I completely burned up two Laser rifles and one T21 (most had three repairs... while grinding at lower skill levels over charge shot and powerups were used to offset the slow speed...sort of).
So picture a Master Rifleman who just ran through that many rifles AND who can barely find T21's on any vendor anyway....who is used to spending 130K for a case of booze so he can use at least a few special shots once in awhile .... walks up to your vendor ...and behold ... his eyes widen .... "OMG". He /tells all his friends to borrow everything he can, buys all the damage sliced ones (they will all hit the speed cap in a masters hands, speed slice is a waste of money) .... and IMMEDIATELY heads for Dantooine to work it off.
Any Master Rifleman reading this will likely chuckle .... you do not understand his world. He looks at you and wonders why in the h*&l these d*#m$d weaponsmiths can't put T21's on their vendors ... I don't care what it cost!
The two of you don't understand each other

Thanks for the viewpoint Naxet.
My alt is also a Master Rifleman. So are a bunch of my buds. Kinda why I made the T21's. Also why I'm kinda bummed to see them all go to one guy. Many of my buds didn't get a chance to get them. 250 ABPH with 20/40 damage is nothing to sneeze at either. I guess i will charge an even higher premium for the damage slices. A T21 will last through two dant missons so. I guess 60k isn't bad for a sliced one. Seems high though

Personally I post limits on items i put on my vendor. I do not like the thought of chargeing 60 k for t21s on my vendor. I do not feal they are worth that much, but only once you get that high does the hemmorhageing stop. I post a description on my stores sign lead item descriptions, and I say limit one per customer. I want everyone to have a chance to get one. If they still clean me out I ban them. Most customers understand if you limit them to what they buy. So that you might keep the prices down, and the ones that dont well you dont want them in your shop anyway. They only see you as a mark not a partner.
Thankfully the only weapons I limit are T21s and VKs asside from loot schem weapons, and I sell crates of knucklers anyway which they can buy instead of clearing out my singles.
Keep your chin up with armor and buffs getting the axe. People will start respecting the effort you put into weapons moreso.

On Corbantis, on average unsliced T21 can sell for at least 30K (ones with really good damage slices have been selling for upwards of 1 mil, or so I've heard). When I sold sliced weapons, I would charge a premium for damage slices, and the better the slice the higher the premium. Since damage slices are preferred for most weapons, it only makes sense to charge more for them (supply and demand and all). It sounds to me like you've got plenty of room to raise prices.

Sounds like good go between. 60k is a lot for T21. Bu then I think of how long it took getting all the right resources. I think I'll keep my High damage slice stuff at 60k-ish. But I still sell regular ones for about 12k so I don't feel so bad. I'll put a sign up about the banning thing. Of course I deleted the email with the last fella, so I'll have to start a new list.

All the specialized resources and blaster power hanlders for a T21 and you only sell it for 11k? Just for comparison, what do you charge for a Scout Blaster?
I basically charge by the blaster power handler and then add some extra for specialized resource requirements. A little more for any scopes and/or stocks. And then slightly adjust for demand as I see fit. So my basic laser carbine is about 3 times more expensive than my basic scout blaster plus 1k for the specialized resources.
On Starsider, I've seen weaponsmithes sell their unsliced T21s for 100k. My neighbor who's also a weaponsmith sells his for 27.5k and never has them in stock. I sell mine for 55k (some of the best on the server I think: 7.4 speed 409 max damage). They don't fly off the shelves, but they do well. A few people will buy 3 or 4 of them, but for the most part, they're around long enough so that more than just the first few people who stop in have a chance to buy them.
Enraged rancors, Jantas.... money's too easy to get to only charge 11k for a T21.

yeah thast what i was thinking. if you charge 12k for a t21 then what do u charge for a curved sword? 500 creds? is a laser rifle 3k in your store? and u can 1 star me all you like but 12k for a t21 is stupid.

/agree, even given any server differences. 11K is low even for a laser, and T-bones are a lot more resource-intensive and specific. It takes more rare, high-quality materials to make a T21, so you should price accordingly.
