Thread: The real scoop on Bespin Port.

Ok Ive been reading how some people drink 1 bespin port per experiment point, and even take hours to craft a good weapon because they have to wait for their stomach's to empty. Well I noticed every time I drink bespin port that there is a timer. What is there a timer for If its only good for 1 use? Does drinking 1 bespin port for every point of experimentation do anything or are these people crazy?

Bespin only works for one craft. The timer is an oddity that Iwould guess the Chefs have raised issues about. I usually use 7 or 8 points at a time when I use bespin

Timer means experiment in that time or take another bespin

So I shouldnt use up all my experiment points in 1 try? Are you guys saying I should only do a few points per experiment, run the experiment and then experiment again? So basicly im doing several experiments in 1 craft?

oke let's say your crafting a pistol

First you put 6 points in damage. You drink a bespin port. Then you click experiment. now you see how many more points you want in sac/dmg etc. you place 2 more in damage to get it capped again you drink a bespin and you press experiment again. Now you have 4 remaining for sac or speed whatever you want. You put 4 in and drink a bespin and click experiment.

Most people use bespin when they do multiple points at one time. You take it before you click the experiment "button"

Experimenting by the double edged sword ---> I start with a 6 pointer in whichever line I'm intending to max out, an amazing on a 6 point experiment gets the same result as 7 great's. With an amazing I have therefor saved 1 point to put in other areas. The downside to this is the random moderate or crtitcal failure which turns the item into a paperweight. The safe way is 1 point at a time to minimize damage done by a bad experimentation. I always use bespin.

I'm just getting into crafting again. i sort of gave up crafting after the cu. My old toon was a master chef/ master be. Now i'm not sure how much this had changed, but back then i used to experiment with different amounts depending on what i was crafting.
Like say with brandy i would never get an amazing using 6 exp points. But had a chance to get 2 amazings doing 3 points at a time. Not every time, but often enough that i always crafted brandy that way. Dont know if all crafting is that way, and i'm just getting back to crafting post cu and would have to see if certain weapons have to be crafted a certain way. Its a long time consuming process with a waste of alot of resources. I never did you bespin and experiment one point at a time. my min was always 2 points or more. Like i said all my knowledge of crafting is pre cu, so it might be totally outdated. Hope this helps

Best results seem to be 2-3 points at a time with bespin. I usually use 3-4 since my assembly is high and/or with an inspiration buff. You can use 7 at a time but mostly that just means you'll get a great success instead of a moderate.

why would anyone use all their points in one go?

say im on final assembly, i take a bespin, click to the end of the damage line, hope for amazing, say i do get it...

now i got X amount of points left, drink another bespin, toss pts to cap off dmg (if neccesary) then toss the rest into another bar (sometime effectiveness if not already capped from subcomponents) till it caps then the rest into speed

thats my method... and im double cappin featherweights like crazy now hehe (with these new WS buffs)

well when I have no fear of capping it out shy of using up al my points thats what I do. And poping a port helps emmensly in avoiding failures/poor results. Though I've found certainly when crafting high end loot component weapons... well you cap stuff pretty easily. (Hell I capped SAC cost on a krayted PFT recently... right on final assembly using -23 SAC stock and -9 SAC powerhandlers). So even then I seem to have wasted a few poitns that could have gone into damage or speed. Ah well.
