Thread: Need quick advice: Do's/Don't of making Kraytpistol

Hehe, well actually - when the customer first contacted me, he wanted me to make him a Krayt FWG5 and he told me he had the resources... naturally suspiscious I asked him if he had really really good quality resources and a Krayt dragon loot.
Turns out he hadn't understood that a Krayt gun required parts from a Krayt.
Since I've never done a Krayt gun myself, I explained that he needed a Krayt dragon scale (erroneously apparently, since he needs a tissue), but to my surprise he got ahold of a scale an hour later from a guild mate.
Oh well, guess I will have to tell him the sad news that the scale should be a tissue, and that it won't fit into a FWG5 either way... ![]()
well if I have advice to give here they are :
if you're short on some best resource, krayt guns or any enhanced weapons is best to use them in, better keep them for that than putting them in a single last run of basic weapons imo
on experimenting, as said above if you experiment 1 pt at a time sure you have basically more chance to have a moderate success, but only in number and you might still be able to get best dmg/speed even with a mod success, now if you experiment 2-3 or all ptsat once and you have anything less than a great success your gun (or krayt component) might be even worse than a basic one so I would advise to use 1 pt at a time for enhanced stuff, always
In short, using 1 pt at a time you risk 8-9 times to have a mod success but it'll have less impact on final result than if use several points at once
hope that helps ![]()

Also, be sure to do your experimentation in a city that has the research bonus, to decrease the odds of getting bad results. With my own krayt weapons, I experiment as I normally do, mainly because if you experiment one at a time the complexity of the component/weapon increases each time. The higher the complexity, the more likely you'll get a bad result.
