I am looking to have 5 Elite Carbs and 5 Laser Carbs made for me as I am a BH. What I am curious about is which loot componets I should be tracking down to have these weopons made with enhancements. Basically I want to make 5 PVP quality weapons in both category and then get tham all sliced and keep the best ones out of the bunch. I like a challenge so I want to see if I can get the loot myself rather than just buy it off the forums. Could you esteemed scholars of guns and big sticks that hurt people please provide the sage like advice that I need?

(My alt is an AS so I know that a big part of the end result is going to be resources, I have a guildie WS who will take care of that end of the deal, just looking for loot advice.)

Thank you to all that take that time to answer this post.

I read some of the FAQs above, so let me revise this a bit.

What loot componets would you reccomend putting into a PVP Carbine. Looks Like I will be going for an all out DMG Laser for Jedi and a more well rounded PVP Elite for targets with Dmg Mitigation.

Thanks again for your help

Imperial stocks and krayt tissues are really about all there is, unless you get really lucky and loot some exceptional barrels (but that is not something you can count on).

A retired WS friend of mine had me make him a PvP laser using one of his custom stocks. I believe it was 39/39 +34 Ideal range, the final build with one of my +43 scopes was +98 Ideal range . If you want 100% damage, use a properly experimented Advanced Stock

The catch with Carbines.......as in being a Carbineer/BH is that the Carbines while even buffed will have VERY high HAM requirements when you use specials. I've made many Carbines for BH's that all I experimented on was Reducing the HAM cost for the specials. Try firing off a series of Specials with a high damage Laser Carbine and then try the same thing with a DH17 Carbine(Should be half the HAM of a Laser Carbine). See what it cost your HAM pools and decide whether you want more Specials or more Damage. IMHO....More specials is more Damage.

What I would recommend:

  • Krayt Tissues: A set of 7 tissues you could make (6 Elite Carbines) or (2 Laser Carbines) or (1 Laser and 3 Elites).

  • If you add Stock and Scope. Spend 3-4 experimentation points on Damage and rest on HAM reduction.

  • No scope or Stock. Experiment on Damage.

Keep in mind that your Skill bonuses will make up for the lower Speed on the gun andthe Krayt tissues will help the Damage and Speed numbers as well. That is in reference to using a Low HAM gun compared to a High damage High HAM gun.

For the stocks you could try get it in the experiment so that you only put a few points in but damage goes to 39/39... possible I think, considering the bugs with the stock. I put 1 point in once and it went to 1/39 so 39/39 would be possible. That would allow you to experiment on the ham/ideal more. Scopes I can get to +42 with 19 ham or +21 with 0 ham. Imp FF Stocks gives 14/9 less damage but are fast. BH shouldnt worry as you'll cap.

You can't make 6 Elite Carbines from 7 tissues. You could make 2 laser carbs, or one Elite and 2 DH17 or E11 carbs or you could just make 7 E11/DH17 carbs without having to burn one for the schematic.

Not sure about hitting max dmg on stocks with only a few points, more power to you if you can do it but barring a critical success I don't see it happening. For the non speed capped, FF stock reduces speed by about .8 seconds vs. crafted stock, so it's much higher damage even if you give up 15/10 to min/max dmg. For the speed capped, FF stocks are worth considering for their HAM reduction alone as they will reduce the HAM costs on the weapon by about a third.
