Hi folks,

I recently aqcuired a 12pt WS outfit, and am toying with the idea of a weaponsmith for my second charater after the CU.

What does everyone think? WIll it be worth it, or should I just sell the clothing to make a huge profit. I've been an architect and I'm a master Shipwright now, so I know about business in this game. Armorsmith and weaponsmith seem to be the best money makers...

Anyway, thanks for any input.

I don't make a whole lotta money as a WS. I sell a lot of regular weapons, but most of the big loot stuff you craft, you have to have the right slice in order to get your return out of it. At least this has been my experience on my server.

It may be different on other servers.

I usually have 5 mil in my pocket and float around there..

Now, the armorsmiths...they make the dough!

As a MWS and Master Merchant, I make my money selling loot and resources (when there are no spawns I need to get). I mostly make weapons for my guildmates (no charge for them)and very rarely sell to the general public although I do try to keep my weapons vendor stocked with at least of few of each weapon type just in case.

the best money maker is looter. if you want to get rich, defense stack and go kill krayts and sell pearls.

Be prepared to spend alot to get the resources to compete with the older smiths. Top resources with 10 points > 12 points with average resources. With vendor search people find the best weapon they can and go buy it. I've only been a smith for a month but have spent millions getting all the best resources, stats wise I am very close to anyone on Intrepid, so far though have stuck mainlyto making enhanced weapons and auctioning them on the forums.

I remember my old guildmates ( who no longer play) telling me not to become a WS. They told me it was boring and a tremendous amount of work. They were right ofcourse. But I am a boring workaholic.

My alt is a WS, but only sell Bike to public. I grind to keep my families Toons in weapons.

my ws is also a master tailor. I mainly supply my alts with weapons and clothes so they can be bad and look good at the same time. I craft for guildies and if a noob is nice enough I'll make them a decent weapon

My alt is a 12pt MWS and I make almost all of my money by selling grenades. (Imp detonators to be precise.) With all the Village grinders it is a very quick way to make a bankroll.

I actually make more money grinding to jedi than I do weaponsmithing.

I don't find it boreing, a lot of work though. If your not careful in manageing your inventory you can overun yourself with parts packed away in every space imaginable. Planning is essential, once you get the plan of how many of what you are going to build stick with it.

as a MWS for nearly a year now,i've made a bit of a name for myself and expect to hit at least 8 figures in sales weekly. a few tips:

1) having high end resources is essential
2) place your shop in a high trafic area
3)keep your vendors stocked...people come to my store automatically because they know that they can find almost anything on hand
4) sell something really cheap (like pups or tools) to draw people to your shop in the beggining
5) don't expect to make all the profit on each weapon...price things to be competitve, at least until you are well known (especially now with galaxy wide vendor searches available)
6)learn what weapons are in demand...customize your stock to what people are looking for

as for how things will be after the CU...well have to wait and see...but people always need weapons. if you plan to be a highly profitable WS, just be prepared to invest alot of tiime iinto the craft and alot of money into acquiring high end resources and loot items.

Ws is almost like a job at times, but i greatly enjoy it.
