I am a new master weaponsmith and I was wondering why I was getting all of these moderate successes. Enough to drive you to drink.

Iam a brand new WS, but I have noticed I do much better in my shop inKeren. Mind you, Keren on the Intrepid server is a complete ghost town. No lag issues, and I just seem to do better there than at my Venders' Row Theed shop.I don't know if that relly helps. It could be totally dependent on if it is an even or odd numbered day, the phase of the moon, the humidity index, etc.

I hope the brand new day is your key to succuess.

I've noticed that some weapons seem to have maximum damage stats that I just cant get past. IfI hit the max and then try to experiment on damage again I always get a moderate sucess. Do a few and see what you seem to be maxxing out at for damage and then dump your other points in durability.

I wish I got more moderates :-)

Moderates might be better in one stat and worse in another. They can be worse or better than a Great Success. They would be more aptly named Unusual Result.

You will get more bad results than good from moderates, but don't throw them out before you check the results. Getting an exceptionally good result that makes your weapon better in some way than the other Smiths can make your career.

I'm trying to make a new launcher pistol shematic.....I have made45 launcher pistols. I have gotten a moderate EVERY SINGLE TIME!! ARRRGHHHHHH! I feel like Im grinding again. A few weeks ago this would have taken me a minute or two. I did get one with perfect damage successes. Then guess what? Thats right, our worst nightmare! The two points I dumped into efficency were MODERATE SUCCESSES. Which raised the hame about ten points. I know we've been posting here and there about this. But this is just too much. My regular little tricks, like picking up my station and putting in back down, sitting, standing, laying prone, arent working.

I'm totally sick of this. I just give up for the night, I'll try one right when I log in tommorrow and maybe The first one will be perfect.

/agree 100% Wilx

I have been using this method regularly ,

will end up sometimes with 1 or 2 less minimum damage but also have 5 or 6 more max damage (good trade off on most weapons)

Sometimes I even get a faster gun and less wound % with the same max min/max damage as a perfect all great success made weapon ......GREAT Trade off in my opinion.. who the funk care's about a 1-5% wound chance?

and on the rare occassion , I have even gotten a weapon that has increased damage/speed/and lower ham cost After burning all the points in damage exp and not even having any points leftto spend in effeciency.

I feel your pain. FWIW, the effectiveness rating of your private crafting station -does- seem to have tangible benefits. For a long time, I was using a 33 effectiveness station (not too shabby) and I would get lots of moderates, especially on heavy weapons. Recently, Lowca's premier station maker, Glug cranked out a batch of 42's. While that may not seem all that much of a jump, it's something like 1/3 better. Since I've started using that, I've noticed my 'moderates' have dropped off considerably. Could just be the placebo effect, but it really does feel better now.

I find my "failure" gives me better results than my "moderate success".

What is remotely successful about adding 10 to HAM, losing about 60 durability and losing -10 pts of both min and max damage I ask you? Bah!

I am contemplating just whacking all my exp pts into damage in one hit. At least then I'll either get a perfect one or a crap one.....and no shoddy in-between!
